How to install mods

Hi,

I've downloaded hundreds of mods and figured I could just copy them into the data folder. Straight away I had problems where some things worked and other things were broken/glitchy, so I did a fresh install.

I've seen Nexus Mod manager and Mod organizer which are meant to streamline the process - I've tried them both but can't seem to get them to do anything. Each time I launch the game, it's still just the vanilla version.

What's the best way to install mods instead of dragging GB's of files into one messy/conflicting Data folder please?

I repeatedly follow the guides from several sources but haven't got anywhere in over a month other than uninstalling and re-installing. LOL.

I'm tempted just to go back to the vanilla game and try to forget about the modding scene, or maybe look for a re-pack that's already modded?

Thanks.

if i were you, i'd look for gophergaming on you tube and follow his how-to guide on downloading and installing mods for skyrim and fallout 4.
