stephanie
back on topic for a single post, then y'all can get back to whatever you were chatting about ... (let the 'flames' begin) Well before I start, I am a diehard democrat. Now I am voting obama, and everyone that I know is voting for obama. Of course you are ... Im just wondering who all out there thinks that Obama is the antichrist. Or how many people have head this. I tyhink by now everyone has 'head' this .. To me, Senator Obama is an intelligent person who is trying to insure his future. His inexperience (every time he speaks) says volumes. He will raise your taxes. He will attempt to confiscate your guns. He will destroy Social Security and Healthcare. He will cause massive unemployment .. but he will have a balanced budget. Either way, it all started from his rival runner, McCain. He started the ad called "The one" Which was all about showing the similarity's between obama, moses, and the antichrist from the popular Left Behind series. The thing is, I did some research, and well the bible states that when the antichrist comes, he will be unknown to the world. This means in turn, that people thinking obama is the antichrist just means that hes not. Think about it.... Senator Obama was 'unknown' until he appeared on the national stage. I had not heard of him before he became a candidate, and I'm sure a lot of others are the same. Politics (and political advertising) aside, Senator Obama has, in the past, associated with known terrorists and radical extremists. He's still an 'unknown', since he speaks 'political garbage' in answer to every question asked of him. His 'change' policy is yet to be defined. His real plan is the same as every Liberal plan .. "get as much of the people's money in taxes as possible, then dole back it out to everyone as 'welfare', making sure that the people will be dependent on the Government for everything. Karl Marx would be proud. I watched the debate last nite. Obama was hesitant and unsure of himself most of the time. He thinks he has the economy 'nailed', but everything he said he would do has been tried before and failed. His foreign policy knowledge is mediocre at best. To me it sounded as if he was parroting someone else' words. The best thing he said during the entire debate is "Senator McCain is right" and "I agree with Senator McCain". :)

Karl Marx would be proud. associated with known terrorists and radical extremists People often sit on boards with people they don't necessarily like or agree with on everything, simply because they are working on a common goal. (Very similar to Congress and the Senate.) And if by Radical Extremists you're talking about Rev. Wright, most of what he said, that I watched and read extensively, is actually based on factual history. As usual, you are another example of an American who has not had an adequate historical education. Marxism was based on the premise that all profits belong to the workers (proletariat). A little bit of Marxist infusion into this country would be a benefit, actually. As President Hoover said, "the trouble with Capitalism it has Capitalists. They're too damn greedy." Obama's plan won't raise my taxes. Do you make >$250,000 per year? And though my family business makes more than that, they smartly reinvest much of their gains back into the LCC which helps keep taxes low. Obama's plan actually cuts taxes for the majority of Americans. McCain is trying to keep the Bush tax cuts that only helped the elite.
Skolhamarr
the debate was total spin neither side answer not on question, Obama repeated himself a view time. No plan no nothing..... I am McCain supporter unless he start saying something, with some substance. I am going to over the libertarians and Bob Barr. If the nationalist ever run a candidate you can forget me voting republican

Michlo
A good summary of last night's debate (in my opinion, of course): http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7658313.stm
herosinger
I watched the debate last nite. Obama was hesitant and unsure of himself most of the time. He thinks he has the economy 'nailed', but everything he said he would do has been tried before and failed. His foreign policy knowledge is mediocre at best. To me it sounded as if he was parroting someone else' words.Quite honestly, I would feel very comfortable in substituting McCain for Obama in the second sentence. In the end, these debates are mostly meaningless. Each viewer will see exactly what they expect; no minds will be changed. Also: According to the plan published on his site, Obama will cut my taxes. In addition: I don't own any guns for Obama to take away. Finally: If the allegations of "palling around" with terrorists is serious, McCain has shared a stage - as a symbolic equal - with a known terrorist supporter. He has shaken his hand many times. He's hugged him at least once. If this were a serious issue, shouldn't McCain be doing something about it? You can repeat talking points as often as you like, but they carry little substance if you don't understand them.
humanbean234
In other news, the former Secretary of State, retired General Colin Powell gave his public endorsement to Obama on Meet The Press last evening. He cited, amongst other things, his distaste for McCain's choice of Sarah Palin as a running-mate, and distaste for the McCain campaign's negative tactics, emphasis on Bill Ayers, and sharp right turn. McCain, interviewed on the October 16th Late Show with David Letterman was called to task for Palin's assertation that Obama "palled around with terrorists," when Letterman questioned McCain's similar relationship with G. Gordon Liddy, the leader of Nixon's "plumbers" who served 5.5 years in federal prison for his role in the break-ins at the Watergate Hotel... a man who also advocated kidnappings and firebombing the Brookings Institute in Washington, D.C.Pot: "Hey, kettle... guess what color you are?"
