Unable to play the game! Runtime errors after approx. 2 minutes pl

Did you install the drivers by manually deleting the old drivers, then installing the new ones? If you are using Windows Driver update or Steam driver update, it is likely your driver files are corrupted, because starting with the 296.x drivers, NVidia drivers don't automatically overwrite the old files with the new. This can cause all sorts of issues. The correct way to install is in the installation instructions, it will tell you not to use Windows driver update any more. You can go here for more info-- It refers to the 296 but it is the same for the 300s as well.

Yeah I downloaded the new ones and removed the old ones properly. In matter of fact, I actually used that exact guide lol.

I changed the administrative mode and the other stuff yesterday so I haven't had the chance to test it properly yet. Will post results. :-)

Okay, it didn't work. I was doing the Dawnguard quest and was currently in Pinefall cave looking for Auriel's Bow, and when I fell down into the water from the bridge it got the familiar error sound and the game freezed.

Edit: Tried reinstalling the whole game but it still crashes.

Ok I've been playing for over 2 wks without any probs then last night it happened twice with that familiar sound. And today it just happened again. Seems hard to work out whats wrong specifically for me as it seems random. All I know is, is that it started when DG was installed as I never had any of those errors b4. Like some of you I've ran virus/malware scans, all my drivers are updated so I'm even now more bemused as to whats causing it.

Yeah same for me, I've scanned for viruses, reinstalled the game, reinstalled C++/.NET runtimes, updated drivers, tried different patch exe's and nothing seems to work.. And as you my problems started with Dawnguard too even though it was installed from the beginning. I started the questline after approx. 30h playing time without any errors and out of the blue Skyrim hoes haywire on me.

This problem lies within DG, it has to. There is no other logical answer, so my question is now: if I travel to a friendly location (like Whiterun) and then uninstall Dawnguard, can my save file be saved?

You could try making a clean save i.e. Go to Whitrun, save. uninstall all mods and DG. Open you save and then save over it again making a clean save.

After my last runtime error this morning I've not had any probs for a couple of hours of play so I'm back to square one not knowing if the error will strike again or not. I did notice that tonight there was a Windows update for "Security Update for Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package" so I'll wait and see if maybe that'll solve it.

I will definitely try making a clean save, but I think I will finish the DG quest first. Too curious about what's gonna happen.

Hmm, seeing as it's probably a C++ error I do think that updating can fix it. The only problem is that my Windows Update won't work until I reinstall Windows 7, and I'm not exactly eager to do that. Can I somehow download all the C++ updates and install them manually or from some kind of package which does not require WU?
