So am I missing something here? I cant locate any of Skyrims .nif files to open with Nifskope, and the ArmorAddOn window in the creation kit doesnt seem to exist anymore, and I need these two things in order to work on the tweaks i want to make. I can't find any guides online or any information explaining how to locate these two simple things, and it is starting to get frustrating. Can anyone here save the day?

All of the .nif's are located in a file called Meshes.bsa. You need to open the bsa's with Fallout mod manager and extract the files you want to the destination you want.

How can I save them back into the .bsa once i'm done with my modding? Thanks for your time

I don't know if that's possible. If you want to upload the mod you are making then you have to put all the files that the mod uses into a new .bsa. I use the archive.exe tool which is found in the skyrim directory (where the launcher is found).

What i'm trying to do is just edit an already existing .nif from a mod that I downloaded through steam workshop. I'm trying to mod the Elder Scroll on Back mod so it takes up a seperate Biped Object slot, so I can wear my Sabre Backpack as well as the scroll. Problem is, i need to make changes to the biped object slot it occupies in the .nif file, and makes changes through the ArmorAddOn window of the creation kit aswell, and I cant access either through any means.

You should try duplicating a different armor add on and editing for the right object slot, Then add in the elder scroll to that biped slot. I've never done this myself but it should be something like that.

You don't save it back into the .bsa. Ever. Don't modify the original bsa.

You just save it in the data folder, with the same folder tree that in the bsa and the game will use this one (out of the bsa) instead of the original (in the bsa).

ArmorAddons are located in the Items tree (3rd branch, called, guess what, ArmorAddon) in the Object Window.

You can also use BSAopt to extract the meshes, but like Gilead said, once you have it extracted just put it into the correct folder. Don't repack it into a bsa. Only big, complicated mods usually use bsa files unless they're on Steam, because Steam requires bsa files. Most mods on third party sites like the Nexus are better off using folders. What Gilead said about repacking the meshes.bsa is correct: never pack a new mesh back into Skyrim's vanilla bsa files.
