uijk718293
I'm using RYZEN 5 2600X now and it has 6 cores and 12 threads. I tried to find any test result or stability guide weather It would be fine If I use iNumHWThreads=12 or 6 but all I could find was 4 is safe starting point. This is not something urgent and I'm happy with just restricting to 4 threads but I'm curious know weather there's maximum limitation for iNumHWThreads values. saurusmaximus
From the STEP Wiki: iNumHWThreads sets the maximum number of hardware threads the game can use. Set this to the number of cores your CPU has, doubling that number if it has hyperthreading. The default value is 4, which is perfect for quad-core CPUs without hyperthreading. So, theoretically, yes. It's been a while, but last I heard there was some debate about how useful this setting really is. Set it to 12, if your game starts getting all weird and crashy, set it back to 6.
