Random CTD's

I totally restarted my modding of Skyrim and this time I've been very careful to make sure it would work. After playing for around 10 minutes I randomly crash and don't know which of my mods could be causing it.

1. Are you using MO, NMM or Vortex?

 

2. Not sure if you have it, but https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72725/ is must have. Follow instructions and it'll eliminate problems associated with low memory. Also has feature for narrowing down what is causing you to crash.

 

3. Is Special Edition Fragrance.esm supposed to be between Update and Dawnguard esm's? Never seen a mod having to load between the main files.

 

4. Are you using LOOT to reorder your plugins? That seems to cause more problems than using Wyrebash to help you manually reorder them.

 

5. USLEEP ESP is mixed in with your ESMs, thats a big no no.

okay first, you need "Crash Fix Plugin" and all tools that fix the crash like "Memory Patch", you will need "Safety Load" too in case you are experiencing CTD's when you load your saves. try to allocating more memory to your Skyrim, my personal setting is "1024" both in ENB local and SKSE ini.

 

second, i see you have "Special Edition Fragrance", many mods that alter cells are incompatible and conflicting with this (i don't really know which one to be specific), try to disable mod that alter landscape or adding clutter like "SMIM" and "Cutting Floor Room", and anything else (i suggest you better try one by one mod that altering visual like water, places, clutter, landscape. try to disable the high res texture pack too). and your load order with the "Special Edition Fragrance" doesn't wrong as the main mod page says.

 

third, don't just believe everyone says about "LOOT" is bad or suck, it can done his job good enough, i suggest you reorder your plugins with it. (yes i know sometimes very small amount of mod need to be arrange back like "Nether Follower Framework" which is needed to be on the bottom of load order, but nonetheless it isn't fatal too much).

 

fourth, i see you have "USLEEP", the placement of it is already okay, don't need to move it anywhere.

 

fifth, i see you have "Enhanced Character Edit" and "Race Menu" plugin at same time. choose one of it you don't need both, it conflicting each other. (it can be causing some character edit problem which is not fatal enough to making a CTD's, but who knows ? if it conflicting don't need to force it to run at same time). same as "SoSRacemenu.esp" if you using this plugin, you'd better go to "Race Menu".

ps : "UFO" is outdated mod, its in the list of dangerous mod for Skyrim, you can try newer and another follower framework :smile:

One issue I have been having is with the RaceCompatibility.esm

 

I disabled it, and no more crashes, whats more is that when I load the game it doesnt even say that its missing... weird...
