Younout
Hello all,This Monster Hunter World mod has been updated yesterday : https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterworld/mods/672?tab=posts&BH=0 It's a fairly simple mod to use, you click on the .exe file, it opens and if the game is open you can modify the visual aspect of your hunter in the game. However since last update, I can't open the .exe file. When I click on it, nothing happens. Do you have any ideas why I can't open the exe file ? Maybe because of anti-virus or something like that ? What's really weird is that the .exe file of the old version of this exact mod can be opened but this .exe file can't.... When I double click on it nothing happens. And I can open the new .exe file on my old laptop (I don't have MHW installed on my old laptop). What could be the cause of this ? I've run as administrator, I've tried many things, I've tried to debug the .exe from Powershell cmd, I've tried rebooting computer many times... What is going on ? What could be the cause of this ? I don't think reinstalling MHW will solve the problem... By the way I have most of my games from steam installed on my D: drive (hard disk) however MONSTER HUNTER : WORLD is installed on my C: drive (SSD). Could this cause a problem ? It didn't affect the old .exe file. I would be extremely grateful to whoever can help me.
HeyYou
Look in the windows event viewer, and see if there is anything in there that relates to it. Also, check your A/V logs, and see if it is blocking it.

However I found a solution to my problem and it's very very weird indeed. I had to create a new windows session on my PC (like a "guest" session) and then I downloaded the mod on that session, unziped it and the .exe file opened this time ! Then I closed that session, went back to my own session and opened the .exe file from users/guest/downloads/Costume Armor mod and then it worked ! That's so weird right ? If it's located in my downloads folder it wont work, but if it's located in another users folder I can open it. It's like if on my session it was "blocked" for some reason. I was able to change my armour. Maybe you know what is going on and why I had this problem ? How incredibly weird.

Younout
Why would it block an .exe file on my session but not on another session ? And it's not exactly blocking per say, it's simply that when I double click.... nothing happens ??????????????

Especially considering you likely have an admin account, and the guest account most certainly does NOT have those privileges... It's just bizarre...... If you right click on it, and select 'open', will it do anything?

Younout
I remember that the only way to solve this was to create a new windows session, download the mod there, create a shortcut for the mod, put the shortcut in a public file, then logout of that dummy session, log in to my real windows session, locate the shortcut, launch it, and then the mod would work. So weird.
