Cole1497
I made a fairly simple mod, just a new armor set, some NPC's, and a new cell. I saved the .esp, and when I tick the checkbox and run oblivion, I discover that the mod may as well not exist. I can't coc to the cell, I can't spawn the armor, and it's essentially as if nothing ever happened. I've moved it to the top of the mods, and disabled any mods that could even have a 1% chance of interfering with it, and I still get squat. Nephenee13
Did you activate the ESP in either a mod-manager or the Data Files section of the Oblivion Launcher?
Cole1497
I've done both with the same results.
Lanceor
Do other downloaded mods work? Could this be a UAC issue?
DrakeTheDragon
Check your game version. Plugins created in a 1.2 CS (nowadays almost all) will just be "silently" ignored by a pre-1.2 game version. The current up-to-date version for Oblivion is 1.2.0416, whether you're using the Shivering Isles expansion or not.You can read up your game version at the bottom of the main menu title screen. If you're able to activate the plugin in the launcher, I'm rather reluctant to suspect file access issues (UAC on Vista/Win7 and game/Steam installed inside program files) this time, or the launcher wouldn't be able to read it either. Cole1497
My Oblivion is on 1.2.0218 or something like that, and I did use CS 1.2, so I will definitely try that, thanks.
bben46
If you have an older legal Non Steam version of Oblivion, the patches to bring it to the latest version are FREE from Bethsoft.
