My mod staging path is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Vortex\SkyrimSE

and the download path is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Vortex\SkyrimDownloads

the game is located in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim Special Edition

The SKSE64 dashboard tool is set to:

Target: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\skse64_2_00_07\skse64_loader.exe

Start in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\skse64_2_00_07\

What should these all be set at? They are all the default locations aside from the staging and download folder which I read needed to be in the same partition as my game. I'm still not sure what it means by partition. I apologize if these are ignorant questions, I know very little about modding. Basically just enough to make my game do things in NMM

I was just using shorthand for SKSE, I am using SKSE64 http://skse.silverlock.org/ version 2.0.15

I can load up the game with SKSE64 if I use the shortcut pinned to my taskbar that I used previously when using NMM 4-5 days ago. However, if I try to launch the game from within Vortex, with SKSE64 being set to primary, it gives me the mentioned launch error. I added a screenshot to the above reply for clarification.

In your SKSE64 dashboard tool, have you selected the correct target and the correct start in folder?

I'm not sure what that means I'm afraid, could you be more descriptive please.

I think I found what you mean.

Target: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\skse64_2_00_07\skse64_loader.exe

Srat in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\skse64_2_00_07\

You need to remove the folder "skse64_2_00_7" from your game folder and place it somewhere outside that folder. Then, from that same skse64 folder, copy and paste the two .dll files, the one .exe file, and the Data Folder (containing Scripts) into the game folder (the folder with the SkyrimSE executable and launcher). On your dashboard tool, set the target as "skse64_loader.exe" and the start in as "Skyrim Special Edition". Set the dashboard tool as primary.

A partition is a section of a hard disk drive or solid state drive that is blocked off to serve as a logical (vs physical) drive. Each partition has a unique letter, such as "C" or "D", etc.

Ok, I did as you instructed and now I get this error message. Did I do something wrong again or is SKSE64 not caught up to the Skyrim version and I'm waiting on them to update code?

Ah, ok. Everything is on my C drive so I should be good there.

The message indicates that you need to update SKSE64. The fact that you're getting the message means that you've configured your SKSE64 dashboard tool correctly. You just have an out of date SKSE64.

as the dialog is stating: the SKSE you are aktuaally using is outdated.

your version 2.0.7

on http://skse.silverlock.org/ is a newer version: 2.0.15

and if you are not using any mods that depend on 2.0.7 - thus not yet being updated to newest Script Extender, downlaod that one and do once more as instructed. if yes, you need to wait until all mods support 2.0.15 SKSE.

Thats strange as I'm using version 2.0.15 which is the most up to date version, yes? http://skse.silverlock.org/

Also, as per my original query, why does it seem that the mods I imported from NMM show as enabled but are not in my plugin list? Any mods I have installed since installing Vortex are showing on the plugin list however. I was sure to disable them all before deactivating and deleting them in NMM

When I open SKSE64 using my taskbar shortcut and use "getskseversion" it says I'm running 2.0.15

and the shortcut on the taskbar is showing to the same EXE path as we asked you to put it?

Only SKSE dependend Mods?

And: try clicking "Deploy Mods" in Vortex Mods Section and recheck the plugin section.

Yes, the shortcut path is the same as you had me set in Vortex: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\skse64_loader.exe"

I used the deploy mods function again and my plugin list is the same as the above SS I posted. And launching from within Vortex should only be trying to load the mods in my plugin list, correct? So one of those three would have to be out of sync with this new version to work incorrectly right?
