lavarob
I don't like that skyrim has this state 1/0 based weight mechanic that makes it so whenever you cross that one extra feather that gets into your inventory, you just will not be able to even think about running. Is there already or is it possible to create a mod that would make it so the characters weight limit has stages?... For example first stage's would give you maybe even some bonuses like damage output boost and skillboosts and the next levels from that point onwards would give you progressive movement slows and negatives to stats like pickpocket / sneak / one/twohanded / archery and so on. I'm fairly certain this is quite possible as a mod... but why has no-one done it? Or is this just too complex to achieve? Would be amazing though if someone could do this. IsharaMeradin
No mod like that that I know about. It might be doable to adjust the speed rate and or other things based upon how much the player is carrying so that as they carry more they'll get slower or whatever. But the effects of being over encumbered (i.e. not being able to run) are hard coded. I'm just glad that they decided to let the player still walk and carry all that excess stuff to a vendor. Morrowind was a pain with not being able to move at all once over the encumbered threshold.

I'd start with cobb encumbrance maybe? Actor values carryweight and inventoryweight are free to access via script, nothing hardcoded here.

Yes, one can change the carry weight and / or inventory weight to try and avoid reaching the over encumbered state. But once the threshold is passed, running is disabled. That cannot be changed. No. Just no...:D Actually exactly what you state can't happen, is happening. Once the threshold is reached, the game adjusts actorValue speedMult. Just for the sake of superior knowledge I'm going to post the script snippet when returning home...:)
IsharaMeradin
Instead of arguing with me, the best way to prove me incorrect would be to make the mod for the original poster. At least this way someone gets some benefit.
