Have 4GB skyrim mod but it's still crashing.

I downloaded the 4GB skyrim mod because I heard it helps stop the game from crashing by making it use 4GB instead of 2GB. But when I began loading my saved game it crashed before even passing the loading screen. Could someone could kindly explain why this is happening to me and how to fix it. I've changed my game settings to what's listed as the best settings so I'm very confused. Please help me.

The 4gb mod shouldn't be necessary with a fully updated Skyrim. Bethesda enabled Large Address Aware many patches ago (lets the game use more than 2gb of memory). Also, a bit more info, like system specs, installed mods, etc. will help someone help you.

I'm not sure what you mean by system specs. But for mods I've got a couple of those CBBE ones to change both the female bodies and some of the clothes/armor, there's also a couple mods to improve the scape of Skyrim but those I got off of steam workshop. Most of what I'm using comes from steam and I read those to see if they need anything extra to work or if they don't work with other mods.

I really just want to play my game with out any crashing. I've got all the updates from steam but it still crashes. I only got the 4GB cause I kept hearing it stops CTD.

System specs-- Your computer details, like how much CPU, processor dual or qual, speed; Graphics card information, including which update and memory; game information like which patch, what settings you are using.

Like flummox sez, the 4GB patch is rendered obsolete bu Skyrim's own patch, I think way back 1.4. If you read the mod description the author tells you not to use it for Skyrim any more.

I hear you, it's frustrating when it won't run... You don't need the 4gb patch though. It may actually be causing you problems. You could try running BOSS. It's a utility that helps sort out load order. (Not sure if all the mods you have from Steam workshop will be covered by it) but load order can cause crashing, too.

System specs: what your processor, vid card and ram are. Just to help see if there's maybe an issue with an outdated video card, etc.

(ninja'd - G's fast )

@ flummox: :facepalm:Sorry!

Wasn't a criticism... I thought it was funny

At any rate @darkoraclegirl... Checking if your video card drivers are up to date can help. Verifying the integrity of the game cash (right slick on Skyrim - properties - local files - Verfiy Integrity of Game Cash) can also help.
