God weapon mod and vague mod

You know what, lately here on nexus (especially on new vegas nexus) god weapon/vague mod started to fill latest mod page and most of them usually has no file and picture. and worse.... now seems most of the experienced modder have leave new vegas (only some of them still playing new vegas like Millenia) for unknown reason. Yeah i know it's your FIRST mod but please.... can we have something that's better than a GOD weapon. Or someone know what's their purpose too? or maybe those god weapon mod will be bloating and bloating and bloating Nexus like today Global Warming.

 

 

to all new god weapon modder please... keep the mod for yourself. Millenia has even release a weapon creation tutorial and please people... don't just toying with GECK and editing weapon stats the only key to success is patience and keep learning not releasing a pointless mod on nexus or trolling/spamming/flaming and i don't understand why people always talking harsh and eventually they get banned because their comment. what's with you guys... can you use internet politely?

Remember People if you want to understand real modding the key are Patience not think "oh i'll create a god weapon and post it on nexus so i could get popular" then you're wrong.

to everyone: thanks for you feedback and i don't mean to discourage you, new modder. yes i know you it's your first creation but please make a mod that helpful not something unrealistic mod.

I believe God weapons and the likes should be allowed as much as the huge breasted body type mods, do I like god weapons or huge breasted body mods? No, but I think they have as much right to be here as any of my lore friendly mods.

While its not your taste in a mod someone out there is bound to think its great, if even one person downloads a mod and thinks this is a helpful/great mod then the mod is a success. :turned:

I'm getting tired of seeing these threads complaining about God Weapons or Lore, or whatever. I don't like God Weapons, I don't like mods that turn the upper portion of a woman's body into two beach balls, but I also don't care. I just move on - silently. What you are asking is limiting people's freedom, asking "noobs" to not upload their God Weapons and keep it to themselves. You want to treat them like children, when did you become Dark0ne?

 

Modders like Nivea and I and pretty much everyone else on all of the Nexus forums mod for ourselves, mod what we like, and upload it for others to view/download. We don't it for you or anyone else. We don't get payed for this.

 

In the end, the Nexus forums allow anyone to upload anything (as long as it's legal of course) they want for everyone else's potential enjoyment.

 

As for the modders leaving the nexus? It's just a game, people move on, get new jobs, goes to school, finds a new game. Or get tired of doing it because they are harassed by others for one reason or another. The later is why I left.

 

Speaking of modding, what have you done to contribute?

goodsprings.... everyone favorite place for placing god weapon. i hate "goodsprings god weapon" at least just rebalance them. like putting it in dangerous place, make the weapon break easily, or make them consume high amount of ammo.

My two cents:

 

 

I don't mind incredibly OP guns being made, I just don't use them.

However, I might use it if there was actually some effort put into it, or it's exceedingly difficult to obtain. Like for instance: I use the Gatling Alice mod sometimes. The weapons are extremely powerful, look at the Alice Grinder; it actually hits enemies so hard, it bends their meshes around, and sends them flying! But you know why I use it?

For one thing, they're beautiful weapons.

Also, I'd say they're balanced, since they're incredibly expensive, except the Alice Grinder which you can get for free, but it has the flaw of eating up ammo at such a rate that you'll run out in a matter of seconds if you fire recklessly.

 

However, the "Nuke Miniguns," and other such guns I will not use, but if others want to, I won't stop them. The majority of Weapon mods on the Nexus fit in the game. I can use those all I want.

 

And if you just think guns are OP, it would take you maybe 5 minutes of editing in the GECK to rebalance it yourself. It's not hard.

 

I'm making a semi-complex companion mod at the moment, but I started modding by making crazy\stupid weapons, like a lot of us did. (Mine was a .50mg 9mm pistol, thank you very much.)

But I only got to really get into modding, and learn things by being encouraged by the community to do so. Telling people that their simple mods suck without offering anything constructive does far more harm than good, I assure you.

 

Also, might I add that telling people to "Make a new mesh and texture." as if it were an exceedingly easy thing to do is not constructive. At all. It's like telling a 4 year old to balance your checkbook. They probably lack the skills and knowledge necessary to do so.

 

As for the other thing; Vague mod descriptions, how about, instead of complaining about it, you try to help. When I see vague descriptions, I'll usually just tell the mod author to give us players more information.

Wasn't long to me.

 

I too enjoy the Alice Grinder.

 

I started making god weapons for myself - cause I'm shy - then stepped up to level creation, then created TTW, which is far and away from simple god weapons, but I didn't get to TTW without going through the god weapons stage.

 

However, in the recent mod department, I've only done a semi-simple retexture of the Paciencia, and helped MMUE redo all of the LOD in New Vegas.

 

In the weapon department, I did a beta version of the Half-Life 2 crossbow with parts of the Sniper Rifle, Brush Gun and Blachnick's, and Thundersmacker's Crossbow.

 

Point is, we all start somewhere. If I was discouraged by James221 and others like him, we would've never had TTW. Of course, because of legal issues we don't have it now, but we did have it once.
