Nomumbra
I'm making a mod that makes changes to the interior of an existing cell. What are the advantages of making it a brand new cell? The disadvantages of making a duplicate of the existing cell? Edited May 25, 2019 by Nomumbra
JW1
The advantage of creating an entirely new cell is that it is yours to do what you want with; with an existing cell, there's always the possibility of your changes clashing with another mod. There's also the possibility of breaking something in the base game if you mess with an existing cell, although that's a fairly low chance if you know what you're doing. Making a duplicate can save work, but you do have to be careful to clear out everything you don't need.
Mktavish
Considering you are specifically mentioning remaking cells ... interiors , right ? hence they connect to another cell. You can possibly change the blue triangles on connecting cells navmesh. Hence if you change the cell those other cells link to, You need to redo the navmeshes. Like Hansolo blasted Greedo under the table ... same think here .
