Vortex is Completely Destroyed

I don't know what kind of tag I'm supposed to spit for this issue, but I can't install any mods in Vortex now without it saying there's an error some .node file within Vortex's folder within a Win32 folder. My plugins for Skyrim and all games is just completely missing. I can only select the "mods" tab, and this is all after Vortex's recent update. I use a Windows 8.1 Server 2012, and Vortex once asked me to update my Microsft .Net, but the latest version can and will never be released for my version of Windows, so if that's the problem, should I just give up now? I'm really tired of the problems with Vortex. It's made playing games period practically not worth the stress.

Vortex requires .Net 4.6 which is available for your OS.

If not completely mistaken Windows server 2012 only exist as 64-bit versions, meaning outdated Net fromework is a more likely reason for the problems.

is your win-8 install 32-bit? if so, then vortex won't work for you at all, as it requires a 64-bit OS.

This sounds like your installation is corrupted. Please try to reinstall Vortex (latest version 0.18.5), that should fix it.

Thank you, Tannin42, at least I'm clear on the version of .Net I should be using now. Just in case it's corrupted all try reinstalling it.

And 1ae0bfb8, I have a 64-bit build.

Thank you, Rattledagger.

BigBizkit, if I uninstall this version to install the new version, would that be the only way to completely reinstall it? Because I went to the Vortex page, redownloaded the latest version today and it immediately gave me file error and a .Net error.

To clarify: Vortex requires .net 4.6 or newer - as far as I know all versions of .net are backwards compatible.

Also, in regards to this error: Vortex doesn't "imagine" things, it tried to load a library and the operating system (Windows) told it that either the library or one of its dependencies is missing.

Since we have already verified that all dependencies we have to ship are in the 0.18.5 release and the rest is standard .net libraries we can be pretty confident saying that there is actually something broken on your system.

Hyperbole ("completely destroyed") or blindly blaming us/Vortex for all your problems ("I'm really tired of the problems with Vortex") isn't getting you any closer to a solution.

This is your problem with your system. We're willing to help but it's really difficult to feel motivated when you come in here attacking us from the first post.

Your first step would be to get .Net 4.6.

After that, install Vortex 0.18.5 anew (over your current installation). Let me know if that addresses your issue.

Okay, so I installed the .net version for my PC. I found out it was 4.62 or something. I already had it installed, so I assume it was corrupt and have reinstalled it. Something after 4.6. Now I have proceeded to uninstall Vortex, and will reinstall it right now.
