Gamebryo Plugin IndexLock keeps failing

GeneralDeFence

Recommended Posts

I been using vortex for a couple days now and I had little issues with it until this recent update. I noticed my plugins and save games tab has gone missing. I found out through my extensions tab that the Gamebryo Plugin IndexLock is marked failing. I tried enabling it, I restarted vortex numerous time, I uninstalled my mods, I even uninstalled and reinstalled my game. Even through a lot of reading and research, I can't seem to find a solution.

-I am using the current version of Vortex

-The game I am modding is The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim (Legendary Edition)

-I installed about 30 mods prior ( now uninstalled)

- I am using Windows 10 64-bit

Other Things:

-I am new to vortex and modding as a whole

-New to PC in general

- I very likely messed something up

Any help would be appreciated

You may want to roll back to your previous version of Vortex for now. Although I've had no problems with v. 0.18.5, others in this forum have reported problems similar to yours after updating.

To roll back, simply install your previous version of Vortex. It will automatically uninstall and replace v. 0.18.5. Previous versions are available from the Vortex downloads page in Nexusmods.

Guess that will do, thanks for the help

I should have added a PS to my post above. Even though the update comes with a warning not to roll back, in another post in this forum Tannin42 (the developer) said that it would be OK. See https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/7681488-8-files-could-not-be-deployed-issue-after-updating/.

Hi. I'm using the current version of vortex and have the same problem. I have uninstalled all my mods and reinstalled the game. I don't show a plug ins category and none of my esm's show. I downloaded looks menu and f4se then tried to download aaf and that's when it showed that it couldn't locate my esm. I did disable the gamebryo and restarted but it keeps failing. I'm new to this.

I did what Augusta Calidia recommended. I rolled back to the previous version of vortex. To do that, click install vortex on the top of the page and install the previous version. So far I had very little issues since and I have about 30 mods. The only drawback I found is that I can't install mods directly to Vortex but I can still manually install mods which is not much different.

Try rolling back to the previous version and install a few mods at a time and see if they work. you may have to do things manually.

I hope this helps.

Glad to hear the roll back worked for you.
