just starting to leveling my alchemy

 

but if i match to ingredient with one positive effect and one negative effect,

 

it will result in potion or poison?

 

cause i just created a fortify summon + damage stamina "Potion"

 

i was expecting a poison to use :(

I'm not certain what takes priority when creating a potion, since it doesn't even seem to matter always what category you're in either. I suggest you simply keep track of what ingredients you're using before you hit the create.

alchemy mixes all 4 things together so if two or more items that you are using are able to do some of the same things then you'll get a potion or poison that isn't really useful.

 

Such strange potions are great for finding out what effects each item have BUT if you want to mix something specific use known ingredients and pay attention to the window as it will tell you what it will make with the known attributes. Some combinations are quite useful. I myself like blue mountain flower & wheat. Not only does it heal it also fortifies health. So you can get some health back and some extra health points on top of that.

 

Even if you were to get a poison, some combination poisons aren't worth using even tho they can net you a decent amount of cash. Try using a poison that reduces stamina by 30 pts, restores 30 pts health, increases magicka regen rate and fortifies conjuration. I'm sure I had one like that or similar at one point. It would have done more good to the enemy than harm, I sold it.
