forrim
Thanks guys, but wouldn't it be better for me to rollback to a version am familiar with,....a version that i know gives me no issues.I cant recall what version, 0.18.1 and, 0.18.4 was like for me, but am certain version 0.17.11 was working superb for me...i noticed no errors using that version.I will take the risk of downgrading, hopefully the worst that will happen is Vortex damaging itself, and not my game files. AugustaCalidia
If not completely mistaken 0.18.1 gives warning about can't download updates, so I would try 0.18.4 instead, the last version that was released to the "test"-branch and not immediately jumping to "stable". I never use the Vortex download feature and so had forgotten about that warning. I always manually download and install.

And I have already made my own personal changes to those files, and i don't want my changes to be undone by skyrim launcher. Whatever works for you.In my case, I have found I have to use the Skyrim SE launcher once after most major Skyrim SE updates.Bethesda manages to screw up resolution or something. Using the launcher and setting options fixes it.
hlp
They don't "mess" anything, they just remove any modification so they are sure of the state the game is in after update. Running the launcher once after update has been a requirement for decades.
