New Computer

Recommended Posts

Okay so I'll probably go with that brand. The one I can get is the 550LC.

I think that's all of my questions now. I just have to wait until Friday and I should have scrounged up enough money. Actually there is no scrounging involved.

Also, thanks for the help everyone.

yea the Corsair H60 is good. idk much about the Asetek ones. idk which is better.

they are just closed loop systems. meaning all the coolant is sealed inside the tubes, which passes through the Radiator. no maintenance needed. they are ok, but expensive for what they do. a good air heatsink is usually better and just as quiet. the only closed loop system thats really any good is the H100, which is a 2x120mm radiator. but still its expensive compared to a top end heatsink like the Havik 140. they have their Pros and Cons. the biggest Pro in my opinion is they look really nice and clean, which is great if you have a window on youre case. biggest Con being price (esp when compared to good heatsinks as ive said)

The standard watercooling kits are loud though and more expensive than the top aircoolers. I see no advanteges over a good aircooler.

If you only have one 120mm outtake fan you block airflow

I'm pretty sure asetek makes the coolermaster kits as well as there own.

It actually gives me 3 options for fans if I do a liquid cooling.

I only have 1 option if I choose a heatsink and fan, and it doesn't even say anything about the brand or any details at all about them. Just Certified CPU Fan and Heatsink.

yea, you would probably replace it on your own. and since youre nto comfortable with doing that, then youre just better off getting the H60. its not too expensive really. and its tested and true. it is good. and clean looking. you wont be sorry you got it by any means.

Alright.

Yeah I tried replacing the fan and heatsink for this computer before and they were awful to remove. Well actually you can't remove the heatsink from my current computer (found out about that after reading someone complaining about it), but the fan is removable and it was... A pain. I mashed up my thumb trying to get it off. It was all scratched and torn looking when I got it out... My thumb not the fan. I seriously thought I was going to have to walk around with a computer attached to my thumb and explain to someone that I needed help because my thumb was being eaten by a computer. xD

Edit: Actually that may have been my other computer (the one that died). I think it also had plastic things to lock the hard drive in place and some other parts.

The one I have has 1 120mm fan in the front of the case and 2 120mm fans in the back in a push\ pull with the radiator sandwiched between. Even with a Double-D HD6870 in there, this PC is quieter than a 2 year old HP Pavilion single core with no case fans at all, and only the stock air CPU cooler (a good aftermarket cooler should be quieter than that one though).
