SaintSaenz
Hi Guys, I'm having a bit of an issue when putting on the clothes created. Everytime I equip the clothing indoors the textures show perfectly fine but when i go outside during day time the textures disappear to the point where I can only see the character as if it wasn't wearing any clothing. As i said above i'ts clear that textures disappear when touched by light but show perfectly fine when there's obscurity. Here are the settings i use when I'm on nifskope and my choices when creating the _n.dds in gimp. https://imgur.com/a/xxLE3Ks If it helps, the only exporting settings i use when saving the dds and _n.dds files are just "createmipmaps". Thanks for your time. Edited May 31, 2019 by SaintSaenz
dubiousintent
I'm not a modeller, but from what I have seen such problems appear to usually have to do with either the "alpha channel", DXT format saved in, or the "normal map" (_n.dds) file. It is also possible the "normal map" needs a "glow map" (_g.dds) file as well. (See the "TESTG Glossary" for any unfamiliar terms. For an in-depth description of the differences (pro and con) between DDS and DXT files, see the article Working with DDS/DXT Files by Gary "Buckaroo" Neely.) You might want to check out DXTBmp Texture Tool (and others under the "Image Tools" sub-section of the "Programs and Tools" section of the wiki "Getting started creating mods using GECK" article). Images can be passed to any Paint program for editing in 24 bit and then re-imported and saved in any of the 16/24/32 bit formats. Transparency (Alpha) channel of textures can be viewed and edited separately from the main image. -Dubious-
NightmareRex
i have a similer problem and only way i could figure to fix it is have to have mod installed in same folder it was in when it was created IE it was in programfiles/steam or program files/bethsoftworks, now after upgrade it would be in programfiles(x86) but would have to move it to program files. See the wiki article "How to fix hard-coded texture paths in NIF files" for the procedure to locate the texture file entry within NifSkope. (The path needs to be "relative" instead of "absolute"/"hard-coded" in order to be found on various installation locations, which is what that article covers.) -Dubious-
