Cthuloot
So I got Skyrim at release, did my time and then didn't play it for a little. And then I got Dawnguard for the PC. And I remembered not being totally satisfied with some things in the game, so of course, I went ahead and tossed in a few mods and have since been rather enjoying it. But the more I play and read online, I can't help but notice two things. The first is that Dawnguard supposedly adds a lot to the game. The second, is that all people are talking about is the vampires. :ermm: Now, of course browsing forums and people's blogs and reviews of the game I'll notice some things mentioned in passing that seem like they're just common knowledge. Now, I jumped from 1.3 to our current version, so I didn't keep up with all those patch notes, but I've noticed a lot less bugs (More CTDs though =/ Thanks Dawnguard), but other than that, nothing really struck me as new, beyond the Few things I've seen from Dawngaurd (I'm supposed to go get blood or something for some cup, no spoilers please!! ) So to cut the crap, my question is, what did I miss? What are people not talking about? For example one thing, that I don't remember being an option before, was mounted combat. I've heard this mentioned in passing a few times, but as a mage have not had a chance to test it. Is this true? Does it function well? Can I play a mounted archer now? Is there some secret mounted fight club we're just not talking about? Can I armor up Shadowmere to look ridiculous in Elven horse armor? Are there new weapons for it? What else am I missing? Any light and insight would be appreciated guys! Even on the UESP pages the Dawnguard article doesn't offer much insight other than "Look how cool the new vampires are" and "Check it out, werewolves get cool things too" Cheers! Lachdonin
Mounted combat was released in a patch before Dawnguard even came out. It was essentially free DLC. Same with archery kill-cams.

Oh. See? News to me.Would you happen to know if anything else like this cropped up at all?
Lachdonin
Nothing that comes to mind. I know there have been expectations that a lot of the free-design results they got (when Skyrim came out, they gave the designers a week to play with the game and make anything they wanted. Mounted combat, ranged kill cams, spears, vampire lords etc. came out of it) will be implemented at some point, though theres no certianty it'll be in a regular patch like mounted combat and the cameras. On another note, it is suitably gratifying running down fleeing enemies on a horse..
Deleted3507349User
I'm still trying the find the hidden easter egg that supplies a coupon code for a free box of fish sticks.
Cthuloot
FISHY STICKS! Perhaps that has something to do with the bugs in jars? I'd look into that if you're dying for free fish sticks. Or even just the satisfaction of knowing you figured it out.
Satorinu
New Additions you likely missed. Pre Dawnguard: Horse Combat (Already mentioned) but with the downside of NOT working for mages - unless you download a mod that permits it, can't recall which one. Archery and weapons however work fine. Horse Armors - get Convenient Horses mod in my opinion, and now you can armor up shadowmere in ebony or dwemer ect and even have your companions ride along on their own horses with you, each horse they ride can be individually chosen & re-armored and your horse will be left alone in combat.. ect..ect. Already mentioned.. Mage & Archery kill cams - yay! But already mentioned too. Still awesome. Post Dawnguard As-A-Vampire Additions that you probably already know about but even more so, new seduction and feeding options that really help out the experience. Still 100x better with one of the two major vampire overhauls.As-A-Werewolf Additions, again that you've read about and still a ton better with an overhaul that builds on the dawnguard changes. Vampires attacking villages/random encounters - some find them awesome, some find them mildly annoying, some find them to be gamebreakers killing their smiths! Personally, I find them awesome and haven't lost NPC's to them, your experience my vary. Crossbows, duh though only two types?! .. get a mod to add in mod variety .. mmm.. daedric.. :D .. New armors, and weapons; love the vampire armor myself, but plenty more to love.. like a shield of weird awesome! New Dungeons & Quest lines regarding the two factions.. of course! New bugs. YAYYYyy..y....y..oh.. well read my signature, you'll end up grateful if you don't already have them. New modding resources.. and that really is what is important to me :3 since all the things added will be modded, refurbished, and re-released even better by this community. Worth, being, excited, about.
