pkmntrainer777
Im planning on importing mods from NMM 0.65.2 for Skyrim, but I want to keep NMM the way it so if something goes wrong with vortex I may still be able to use Skyrim without having to start from a clean slate. sorry if I'm being stupid, just want to be cautious. rmm200
The way NMM works, it actually copies mods to the game directory. If you are lucky, when Vortex Deploys it will rename conflicting files as backups. So - in theory - and the cost of having all your mods duplicated - when you do a Vortex Purge all your NMM mods come back.I don't use it - I don't trust it. You may.My recommendation remains - use NMM to uninstall all NMM mods before telling Vortex to manage the game.Even further - manually clean all mod leftovers in your game directory. Delete everything not from Bethesda. Then have Steam Validate.Getting mods to work correctly is hard enough without forgotten leftovers cluttering up the place. Tannin42
No, when you import from NMM, Vortex only copies the files over and tries its best to recreate the mod setup you have in NMM, while leaving the NMM install intact. However, after the import you should disable the mods in NMM, otherwise you'd be managing the same game with two modding tools and they will interfere with each other (Vortex will move mod files installed by NMM out of the way but be able to restore them, NMM will overwrite Vortex files "destructively")
