Misellus
I bought Skyrim in the year 2011 and everything was fine until that one Patch (i think it was 1.3) which caused my Skyrim launcher to loop all the time when pressing the Start button instead of starting the game. The problem was that the patch deleted the TesV.exe, after i searched for that issue and found more people having troubles with this i followed the steps and "verify integrity of game cache", steam said it would reacquire 3 missing files but that never happened. So i downloaded the TesV.exe from a friend and look at this it worked. But too bad that i couldn't fast travel anymore because a mouse 1 click caused the map to close, also i couldn't choose any weapons anymore because the same happened to the inventory. So being totally stressed out by that i downloaded the pre-patch files from the internet. Worked fine, but too bad i cant tell steam to stop updating the game instead of letting it be as it is. After that i didn't want to handle with this mess anymore and took almost a year break of the game and decided to come back after a patch repairs all this. It did not. Same problem again TesV.exe deleted, when i get it from the webs i cant use the map anymore or even attack because my character is moving around like he had roller-blades on. I have no mods installed and reinstalled the game over 20 times. I hope you guys can help me, you are my last hope to get this to work. (Excuse me for my bad english)
ViaFernandez
Have you tried redownloading skyrim from steam? But before that, is your Skyrim currently patched to 1.7?

ViaFernandez
Have you tried deleting the skyrim installation files and uninstalling skyrim, then redownloading and updating by steam? Did you by any chance move the folder of skyrim?

IsharaMeradin
You can install via DVD. It's much faster than downloading from steam. It will require you to connect with steam during the installation process tho. Beyond stating that, I've no idea how to help your situation.... Misellus
Installed via DVD, and before i could do anything steam updated the game to the latest version. Trying to start the game with the launcher results into the endless loop again and the tesv.exe is missing of course. i hope this isn't the dead end, would be a pain if i couldn't play a 50 bucks expensive game... IsharaMeradin
You aren't installing inside the Program Files directory by any chance? If you are try putting steam & by extension the game into a different directory C:\Steam is a good example. I know that Windows protects the Program Files directory and it has cause all kinds of problems with other games, could be possible cause... Misellus
Indeed I am installing into Program Files-> Games-> Steam. But moving it would cause a lot of work because i have around 15 games installed on steam and Skyrim is the only game which is causing trouble.
