nikolas55255
As a start, I sincerely apologize if this was already asked before or if that is not the right place to ask that, this is my time here, and I have no idea. What I basically wanted to do, is to let you be able to make a type of armor, with it's stats, but in another armor's style (with a change to the color in order for it to fit the different metal), for example, make a iron armor, that will look like Dwarven armor, only grey. I wanted to create a new set of armor for each style and stats, and a specific forge that will allow you to craft them. So I went and read guides on how to change an object's texture, but all of them changed a vanilla weapon's texture, and didn't explain about a custom one a created one. So I opened the creation kit, hoping I might be able to do this on my own, and found that the only graphic-related file that was mentioned in the armor's window was a mesh file, and it hardly seemed right that you will need to remake an entire mesh file just in order to change the color. And so I returned to the guides, and they said to make a folder baring the equipment information (data\texture\armor\...). but what if it's a custom armor? and one with a different name? what should I name the folders? or am I missing something crucial? I apologize if there are any problems with my English, it is not my main language. Thank you all for bothering to read my problem, this is the first mod that I didn't quit the moment the creation kit got up, so I would be really thankful it if you could show me where I am wrong. gsmanners
Skyrim puts a lot more focus on armor addons (to work around the problem of beast races and their big heads). So you want to look through this: http://www.creationkit.com/ArmorAddon Also note in the Model Data how you can set "Alternate Texutures."
