If you release a mod with ANY assets from a DLC or Shivering Isles, you need to make your mod dependent upon that DLC or SI so that it will not work (by design) without the prerequisite installed.

any mods that add any changes to SI must be dependent on it ( on SI)

say if you try to upload madness armor with the full set of meshes and textures ( in the file that you uploaded) it counts as rule breaking and breach of copyright law

Maybe I wasn't clear enough...ANY assets means ANYTHING from SI which includes meshes, models, sound, scripts, etc.

This also includes derivatives such as taking a base armor, modifying it to the point where it is almost not recognizable. If you took assets from SI (even a menu icon graphic), you MUST make your mod dependent upon SI to work.

You know.

Why does it matter. If you're taking scripts from SI, then you're using the 1.2 CS, which creates pluggins that only work with SI. Problem solved, do as you want with it, it's going to be SI dependant one way or the other.

Unless you'd copy the script into an external program install the lover CS version and paste it there. Why would you want to do that though? Exactly, you wouldn't.

The reasoning matters not in the case of DLC or SI. If you have a mod that is not dependent upon SI but contains content from SI, it is not allowed.

And yes, the licensing is very squirrelly and you won't catch me modding content from any DLC or SI.
