Nomumbra
Is there a way to extend the time text stays on the screen for dialog? I can find nothing about it. I know there is a way to do so for message text but can find no way to extend the time text stays on screen for custom, unvoiced dialog.
ObieDwyer
Is there a way to extend the time text stays on the screen for dialog? I can find nothing about it. I know there is a way to do so for message text but can find no way to extend the time text stays on screen for custom, unvoiced dialog. It's based on the length of the audio file attached to the dialogue. Edited June 11, 2019 by Cdr248
dubiousintent
Expanding upon that response, just in case its implications aren't completely clear: Unvoiced dialog uses a "silent" audio file. The default is (as I recall) about 3 seconds. You can easily create your own, longer version and point the pertinent dialog line to use your longer file. (That is preferable to replacing the existing default file.) Please see the Music and Sounds section of the wiki "Getting started creating mods using GECK" article. -Dubious-
Nomumbra
Thanks, the SIlent Voice generator should work well enough til I get the dialog voiced. Jazuz the dialog in this game is back assward!
madmongo
The dialog system in this game makes a lot more sense when you think about the fact that it originally evolved out of Morrowind, where most dialog lines were not voiced and dialog lines were often shared between multiple NPCs. But yeah, it's a confusing mess.
