RasMir
I'm playing skyrim for the first time in a while and was annoyed when I saw these stripes on shadows. I have Lanterns of Skyrim, USLEEP, APachii Hair + Male and Female, Race Menu, HighResTexturePack 1-3, ELFX, ELFX Exteriors, ELFX Weathers, SkyUI,RaceMenuAlternative,UFO, UFO Dawnguard and Dragonborn,Breezehome light fix, Skyrim shadow Striping, Elfx Enhancer, aMidianBorn All Content, Glass Variants, aMidian Skyforge. I will post a mod list in complete order if someone replies with how to. Please help.
saurusmaximus
Try going into your skyrimprefs.ini and setting the value of fShadowBiasScale= to a higher number than you have now. Mine is set to .9, but some people have reported setting it as high as 10 or 20. I would start with 2 and go from there.

RasMir
We seem to have another problem, while the shadows aren't cross hatched like they were before, the shadows disappear when i look down, as in they scale down when I look down. I'm deleting my skyrimprefs.ini and skyrim.ini and seeing if that works. Please send some suggestions if you have any.
saurusmaximus
If you are going to redo those files anyway, may I suggest Bethini. It does a nice job of tweaking the major settings for you. Are you running an ENB by any chance?
RasMir
I have fixed the shadows for now I think, but there is another issue... again. Every time I talk to an NPC whether vanilla or modded in, it crashes my game to desktop. I have been unable to find any answers online and i don't think its from my mods as I only had alternate start enabled to hurry with testing. I have verified files and still have a problem. I'm getting very tired of Skyrim crashing whenever I do so much as even talk to npcs now. I greatly appreciate any help you can give.
saurusmaximus
Every time I talk to an NPC whether vanilla or modded in I only had alternate start enabled Which is it? Do you only have Alternate start enabled, or do you still have other mods in your load order? Also, are you starting a new game for testing?
