Reinstalling Skryim & all mods (Please Help)

Hi everyone, I'm making a post here because I'm truly desperate. I've got so pissed with modding that I pretty much let Skyrim sit there for like a year, waiting on the day I'd have enough energy to start everything all over again. Today is the day. I've had a terrible experience with modding, and want to do it the right way. I know there's an order to be installed in and what not, and I try to do it exactly as I'm told but I always get errors. I want to start off right, and I was wondering if I could get some help in installing these certain kind of mods.

 

This is my vision of how I would like to play Skyrim:

- I would like to have sex with followers/NPC

- I would like to have an indefinite amount of followers (and keep them chilling in a huge castle or something)

- I would like to be able to modify my body and my followers (CBBE has been a NIGHTMARE for me lol)

- I would like cool graphics (idk what ENB is and all that)

- I would like attractive clothes for my followers

 

Based on what I'd like, if any of you guys have any spare time to help me out, I'd be so thankful. I LOVE Skyrim, but I get so pissed, I've watched all the videos in the world, and I'd hate to just toss the game because my mods don't work, because I've beaten the game too many times on consoles to play vanilla lol. The main reason I bought a gaming PC was to mod Skyrim.

1. Bug fixes and patches

2. Big mods and overhauls that effect the entire game

3. quest mods (big or small)

4. Environments/weather overhauls

5. Large add-ons that add cities/towns/land masses

6. Adds buildings to current cities/towns

7. Plants and foilage mods for entire game

8. Gameplay changes/tweaks/add-ons such as combat, magic, and perks

9. Changes/add-ons to NPC's

10. Visual/textual/atmospheric changes

11. Sound/audio/sound effects (FX)

12. Sorting, menu and player and NPC inventory

13. Cheat items

14. Character model replacements

15. Weapons/Armor/Clothing add-ons

16. Crafting related mods

17. Misc. items, as well as small scale foilage

18. Weapon/Clothing/Armor alterations

19. Specfic mods that need to be loaded at the bottom per mod author's instruction

I might add that it's seldom truly necessary to reinstall Skyrim from scratch, unless you uninstalled it in a moment of rage quit. :P Uninstall all your mods, verify your game cache through Steam and go from there. If you've been using a mod manager which does not write directly to the Data folder, then all you have to do is deactivate your mods, not uninstall.

 

Noctuniquette has given you an excellent list. I would add that you really need to read the mods' description pages very carefully. Mod authors will often tell you about possible conflicts, patches to make their mod work with another popular mod and other little goodies. Take notes if you need to. I use old fashioned pen and paper, but I know users who copy/paste important info to a .doc file.

 

One more thing -- many mod files should not be cleaned, so don't just automatically go through and clean everything. If you use LOOT, it will often throw a "dirty edit" warning and suggest you clean the mod. However, mods which add new spawn points, for example, will cause a "dirty edit" warning even though they're fine. :)

Yeah it was out of rage quit haha. I have LOOT but it just drove me nuts because I got a bunch of warnings (all kinds of different colors and errors, some fatal, some weren't), that just wouldn't go away no matter what I did. What do you mean by "cleaning" mods? Any mods I should download before I get started? Like the Unofficial Patch, that's a must right?

What do you mean by "cleaning" mods?

By cleaning he means the usage of TES5EDIT. TES5EDIT finds files that clutter or are too much of the same and cleans it. With cleaning the files you have a smaller chance on crashing, if of course cleaned correctly. It's a pretty long process if you're new, but it's so WORTH it when you're finally done with the whole process.

Awesome, I see these are your mods? How do I download them? Because this is sort of the abbreviated name, so I can't tell which ones I want and which ones I dont because in nexus they're different. I'm gonna try to download these in this order

Hi everyone, I'm making a post here because I'm truly desperate. I've got so pissed with modding that I pretty much let Skyrim sit there for like a year, waiting on the day I'd have enough energy to start everything all over again. Today is the day. I've had a terrible experience with modding, and want to do it the right way. I know there's an order to be installed in and what not, and I try to do it exactly as I'm told but I always get errors. I want to start off right, and I was wondering if I could get some help in installing these certain kind of mods.

 

This is my vision of how I would like to play Skyrim:

- I would like to have sex with followers/NPC

- I would like to have an indefinite amount of followers (and keep them chilling in a huge castle or something)

- I would like to be able to modify my body and my followers (CBBE has been a NIGHTMARE for me lol)

- I would like cool graphics (idk what ENB is and all that)

- I would like attractive clothes for my followers

 

Based on what I'd like, if any of you guys have any spare time to help me out, I'd be so thankful. I LOVE Skyrim, but I get so pissed, I've watched all the videos in the world, and I'd hate to just toss the game because my mods don't work, because I've beaten the game too many times on consoles to play vanilla lol. The main reason I bought a gaming PC was to mod Skyrim.

Hey so I tried finding the mods that goes along with this load order, it was a bit of a hassle but I managed to get them. I downloaded all of them in the order that the list was made, and I checked the load order just in case, and it was pretty much the same, yet the game won't open. I'm so frustruated with all of this. If I just start from scratch, uninstall everything, and delete all the mods again, what would be the step by step guide to simply turn Skyrim into a porn game?
