Trading slaves

I must admit that I am useless at CS.

 

just think, your a pirate/bandit, you have a ship and yours and many vineyards have a lack of staff.

you steer your ship down nibeny, you see a bunch of poor people, you ship them off to many different vineyards and farms for work.

 

you sell them off or keep afew to run your vineyard, hire officers to keep your vineyards in check and for personal safty, and maybe even choose a prisoner to become a compainion and take him on your adventure, cloth him, feed him and maybe even free him if you are of a lesser-cruel heart.

 

Any modders interested in creating it or improving the idea go ahead its your mod not mine =P

You might get a little resistance to this idea. There is a quest in Oblivion to free a group of slaves and I'm sure that a lot of the modders will find the idea of slaves offensive. To me personally, I find the thought of becoming a slave trader, even in a game, disgusting. Don't take this as a personal attack, I just wanted to voice my opinion. You can report this comment and have it removed if you like.

yes well some find it offensive and some find it a "bad" point in history

So? Some people find nude models offensive. Some people find necromantic guilds offensive. Some people even find oblivion offensive. What's the difference? Slavery relates to racism. Or better yet America MADE slavery relate to racism, good old roman empire, they enslaved everyone, even their own lol. Anyway - it is related to racism the minds of ... err...people. And racism is the catchword of the modern man. It's kinda like the word terorist you know? Nobody wants to be called either, but everyone's using those two words to call others - funny realy.

 

My point is. Yes, slavery is bad - I mean... if you're the one enslaved hehehe. But I just can't see 'em NPC's complain to the high court, can you?

 

Germany made a bad point in hystory. France too. Russia? How's about china? How's about christianity? Oh you don't care about the people those nations/fractions murdered? Like jews, royalty, the working class enemies,witches and muslims? nobody cares about those guys... and girls, and little children, right? Besides, it was long ago, right? RIGHT?!

 

Then again, I'm just defending the idea because of the preposterity of the whole "offensive" stance. I don't realy care about such a mod being made :).

In fact, Mr. Ihateregestering, I think I might put my idea back up since, open minded people like you might not find it offensive, since after all, they ARE just NPCs (all NPC's are slaves if you think, they are bounded to do something a man in a big building scripted them to do) and slavery has been abolished many years ago.

If you had understood my post you would have realized that, like you, I was merely voicing an opinion, not stating fact.

I personally wouldn't want a mod that added slavery to the game. That is my choice, I don't add mods to my game that add sexually explicit animations or adult pictures either. Anything modded could by some be seen as offensive it is up to the individual to decide what he/she will except. I didn't mean to start a debate. lolassassin101 posted an idea with the hopes of finding out what others thought of it. I gave my honest opinion.

heck if you find "nabbing" a poor person from nibeny is wrong maybe change it into "buy" the prisoners from IC prison block and from other cities prison, so its less of "slavery" and more of a rehapilitation (sorry if its spelt wrong but I have minor dislexia) for people who have done wrong, or even pay the poor people to work, but as I said, its up to the willing modder.

I am currently working on a quest for my mod that allows the player to rescue NPC's from certain situations and in doing so they populate the Keep. I have never seen a mod that does that. I always hated downloading a beautiful house mod only to find out it was just a big empty house. I like the idea of having NPC's wandering around and interacting with each other. I apologize if I came off sounding like I was telling you this mod shouldn't be made, that was not my intention.
