Drizzaknafein
So I basically started my Fallout 3 GOTY from Steam completely unmodded. I follow GophersVids channel on Youtube for a complete overhaul. I watched everyone of his videos on Fallout 3 and modded it almost exactly as he did, only difference I didn't put in some of the visual enhancements like weather, lighting, film grains etc. Also I added a few he didn't like Underground Hideout and a couple armors. So I'll start with my laptop's specs: Asus G74SXIntel Core i7-2670QM 2.2GHzWIndows 7 64-bit8GB RamGeForce GTX 560M500GB HDD Here's my load order: Fallout3.esmAnchorage.esmThePitt.esmBrokenSteel.esmPointLookout.esmZeta.esmCRAFT.esmCALiBR.esmProject Beauty.esmFO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esmEVE.esmaHUD.esmMart's Mutant Mod.esmFO3 Wanderers Edition - Alternate Travel.espDarNifiedUIF3.espProject Beauty - Broken Steel.espProject Beauty - Point Lookout.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Anchorage.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC The Pitt.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Broken Steel.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Point Lookout.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Mothership Zeta.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - Optional Restore Tracers (auotmatics only).espFO3 Wanderers Edition - Optional Restore Tracers.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - Project Beauty.espWeaponModKits.espWeaponModKits - FWE Master Release.espWeaponModKits - OperationAnchorage.espWeaponModKits - ThePitt.espWeaponModKits - BrokenSteel.espWeaponModKits - PointLookout.espWeaponModKits - Zeta.espEVE.espEVE Operation Anchorage.espEVE - FWE Master Release.espEVE - FWE Master Release (pulse fix).espEVE Anchorage - FWE DLC Anchorage.espEVE - FWE with WeaponModKits.espMart's Mutant Mod.espMart's Mutant Mod - DLC Anchorage.espMart's Mutant Mod - DLC The Pitt.espMart's Mutant Mod - DLC Broken Steel.espMart's Mutant Mod - DLC Point Lookout.espMart's Mutant Mod - DLC Zeta.espMart's Mutant Mod - Master Menu Module.espMart's Mutant Mod - Project Beauty.espMart's Mutant Mod - FWE Master Release + DLCs.espMart's Mutant Mod - FWE Master Release + Project Beauty.espFellout-Full.espFellout-pipboylight.espFellout-Anchorage.espFellout-BrokenSteel.espFellout-PointLookout.espFellout-Zeta.espUndergroundHideout.espDragonskin Tactical Outfit.espDragonskinBonusPack.espAdvanced Recon Armor.espAdvanced Recon Armor-Easier Stealth.espXaxarion's Merge Patch.esp I also downloaded the NMC Full Texture Pack. Once again I followed Gophers videos very carefully. So with all of the mods installed I started the game it worked perfectly, in fact better than ever. Looked great and loved some of the new features. Played the the entire Vault 101 beginning with no issues whatsoever. Exited the vault and once again everything was immaculate. I get to Megaton and as the plane wings start to open up the game crashes. Tried over and over and it happened exactly the same time everytime. So I looked away from the wings as they opened and no problem, I then go up to the city door, open it, and crashes again... Any thoughts as to how I might correct this issue would be greatly appreciated. I tried deactivating NMCs Full Texture Pack (since it's such a strenuous overhaul) and play again and the exact same issue occured... This is my favorite game of all time and am not going to give up on trying it with the mods for the first time. Please help!
M48A5
You need to limit your CPU cores to 2. Fallout 3 does not work well on quad core and more cpu. http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1348070-windows7-quad-core-fixes/Also, you need to follow these guidelines: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/652876-fallout-3-modding-and-you/page__p__5341265__hl__tamujiin__fromsearch__1#entry5341265Have you ever had the game running without mods? Or did you mod up and than try to start a game? Since your CPU is a little short of the system requirements, you may have some problems running the game. I already changed the CPU cores and yes I have run the game on max settings without a hiccup.
robinsblade
this isnt a hardware issue this would be a mod issue. it sounds as if it might beonly freezing upon loading. Try to save the game and reload a save once exited Vault 101 and try to reload it and if it freezes then thats the case. if it is the case try and do this only have the 5 main DLC/game files enable fallout3.esm and the 4 DLC and try to load the game from there. if it crashes at the same point there then you should/might have to reinstall fallout because its deeper then mods messing it up. if it worked tho then you need to enable 1 mod at a timeeverytime you enable one run the game from a saveoutside of the Crash point and keep playing over were it crashes. and if you found the mod causing the crash post it here and we might be able to help more. So I started with the first one, FWE and it was fine. Next MMM and then it went back to crashing. So i tried everything enabled except MMM and it is working, so far...
