Atm i'm just focusing on a 3rd person version to get used again to the whole modding stuff after my long break...1st person will be a bit trickier but i think it will be quite impossible to create a version that works in both views. The viewpoints/perspectives are quite different, this version looks fine in 3rd person but in 1st person the rifle is thin like a finger, barrel covers the crosshair... can only use the original animations so not sure 'bout the aiming yet.

Though with doing 2 versions i can completely ignore how it looks in 3rd person so it might be possible to implent some kind of iron sight...we will see, have to keep it as simple as possible because of my limited knowledge when it comes to animations/bones/skeleton - not that easy and there are not many good tutorials around.

But i'm quite happy so far...still a very early stage but i already use it- that's the first weapon i created that i use myself as well. It will be very basic and not perfect but i already like it more than the actual flintlock pistol mods - they just feel weird.

It looks, sounds and feels fantastic! Great job.

There are a couple of things I noticed might be slightly improved...

Firstly, I doubt that you can add animations in Skyrim via modding, and as the crossbow animation is designed for shorter models, the musket could be resized a bit, made just a tad shorter, so the grip the humanoid has on the weapon will look more natural.

Of course, if you can add or modify animations in Skyrim, even better, though that might be more of a hassle than simply resizing. Just putting this out there.

Secondly, still regarding the animations, the loading system the animation suggests is that of a bolt action gun, and while those are not musket, you could add something resembling a bolt mechanism so the animation at least makes some sense...

Anyway, can't wait to see more if this mod :D

Can't edit animations (i'm even not sure if it is already possible - before my 4/5 months break only idle animations were doable).

I know that people will complain 'bout animations, especially if they don't know much 'bout the modding background and possibilities - most people expect a fully working mechanism, it's not like open CK and press "add musket reload animation" :D

But even with these animations it doesn't feel that bad, i like it and this is the first mod i created i use myself ;)

Though i adjusted the position a bit, have to do the same with the bullet as well...now the line of fire is f*cked up but the grip looks better, normally you won't see that because you see the player from behind but it could look odd when it comes to kill animations. Don't want to edit the mesh, takes quite some work to export/import and weight the whole thing, i want to keep it close to the original as well
