Can't Update Skyrim SE to new version (after I rolled it back 10 days ago)

I'm new to Nexus forums so not even sure if I should post this here. But here goes:

A few weeks ago I rolled back my Skyrim SE because of the SKSE update (1st time I ever did that) but I did not save my exe. Today I updated SKSE, Add Item, and a few other mods. Anyway now the game launches through SKSE but I still have old version of Skyrim SE running and I can't figure out how to update it. My game runs but not all mods just most. Game asks for v1.9.32 & I am running 1.5.80.0, and can't figure out how to update for the life of me. I did set Skyrim SE to auto update on Steam. I'm trying NOT to uninstall everything and re-install but I will if I must.

(I run Windows 10 and use Vortex).

I would greatly appreciate any help.

OK so it turns out loverslab/sexlab was the culprit. Had to grab the new version and all is well now. Also, I was about to start a new game anyway (that's why I didn't update in the first place).

BUT, as I was searching through all the google results for my same issue and also reading those forums I saw that many were having the loverslab issue not to mention issues with the Skyrim update for various mods/reasons.

What I learned, and many of you may know this but for those who don't; there is something called 'invisible saves' (which of course "can" lead to problems).

To find out if you have them; I opened Skyrim SE via SKSE and deleted all my saves (like I said I was about to start a new game anyway & if your not you can back them up in a new folder which I did just in case I messed something up) I deleted them right from the start screen where Mods, Creation Club & all that jazz is. Then I closed it completely.

Then open Skyrim SE through steam and do the same thing and yes I found some saves in there. Then close it completely.

Then you go to your game folder in Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Saves I found a bunch of Auto saves and an empty folder so I made a new folder in the Skyrim Special Edition folder and named it Previous Saved Games and moved all those saved files into that folder thus leaving the Saves folder completely empty. Then I started my game as usual through SKSE and I started a new game with all my mods (over 300 in place).

Also because of the Skyrim Special Edition update not only do you have to update SKSE if you use it but all of the mods that use SKSE that also updated (and there are plenty).

If you use Vortex like me (I love it but still learning) when you run "Check for Updates" on your mods ALL the updates won't show so you have to go to the Nexus mod page and check yourself. For example the mod "Simply knock" will not show and I saw messages from people who use other mod managers that it did not work for them. (I also saw a Vortex user and a MO or NMM user that knew how to add a text file so their Mod installers would catch the update. But that's another story.

By the way, as far as the save thing I usually turn off all the Auto Save options in my game but I did turn them on for while in that last playthrough. Finished the game at level 82 with over 300 mods though.

Maybe all this doesn't belong here but I saw so many with these issues that I thought I would share what I learned and in fact is now working perfectly for me 10 saves into a new game.

oops I forgot to mention I did manage my original problem of updating the rollback. I did so many things after that update that I forgot how all this started. I just hit the button in steam that says to check for integrity.
