SunWolf
Every time I load a save (at the outset, or ingame) the video settings revert. So i have to reset them ever single time I have to load. Its probably been a 100 times already and im very tired of it. I have no idea whats causing this, happened since I started adding mods (Obse and wyre bashe). Is there a way to change the Oblivion.ini file? i know all changes there stick. thanks a bunch.
asaffin
I had this problem with the Mouse Sensitivity setting and a few video settings. If you haven't already, try booting up the game, and before loading anything, use the main menu's controls to update your video settings, then exit the game and restart it. That did it for me. The Oblivion.ini only contains a few of the video options; mostly, the ini is for tweaking settings that the in-game options do not cover, such as grass dispersion and very minute details like that. Chances are it won't do you any good for your problem.

lastace
That sounds like you may have a conflict with your hardware or setting re: videocard. Post some hardware stats here. Your card may be resetting due to overload or heat. Skys the limit with potential problems

Also, Sunwolf started having this problem after he started installing mods so it's hardly a hardware problem. I once had a similar problem and I found out that one way or another my oblivion.ini had become a read-only file, so any changes to it could not be written. Check that you don't have same issue. (Found in "Properties" of the file)

(Found in "Properties" of the file) Correct, ANY potential hardware problem will not have an affect on the Oblivion.ini file, the "saveini" console command is the way to go. I had this exact same problem and the saveini command fixed it for me. If this isn't working for you do as "SlimyMarmot" (ohhh I feel gross just typing it) suggested but make sure you are checking the oblivion.ini file in your "....\MyDocuments\MyGames\Oblivion\" folder (where your saved games are stored) not the "oblivion.ini" file in your main "...\Oblivion" folder (this one is basicly a default template used to create the other one). Good luck
SunWolf
Billypnats and Thomas thank you so much! It works perfectly easy. I took a prolonged time away from oblivion cause of this issue. Actually, I never played for more than a little bit, due to various modding issues. Now i have a much firmer grasp and all mods work great together, but this issue really bugged me, now its a non issue. Thanks again
