HELP! CTD ON STARTUP!

ctd on start up = missing masters, no ifs or buts + skse start up memory editor. If I am not mistaken.

xD

Generally, you'd be correct. However, since neither MO nor LOOT can detect that I'm missing any masters, that isn't the issue. It isn't a memory issue, either, since I have SSME and have done the edits in my configuration files.

According to Reddit

If you installed the game in the Programs (x86) folder, move it somewhere else.

Verify integrity of game cache through Steam.

Verify your GPU settings are The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim default values.

Update your graphics driver.

Install Crash Fixes and the SKSE plugin preloader linked to on the CF description page and edit according to instructions there.

hmmm... I suspect

it has something to do with the folder location otherwise,

try using One Tweak mod, recently am getting ctd after loading the save, after i deactivate the said mod, i experimented w/ enboost and inis afterwards

that when I verify game integrity/local files, it says there's a missing file but then doesn't download anything

You need to resolve this first before you do anything else. Otherwise, nothing is jumping out at me in your load order.

Have you tried restarting your computer?

Do you have the memory edits in your skse.ini?

Does the load order in the left pane match the right pane in MO?

The only other suggestion I have is to start disabling mods, one at a time, until the game will start. For mods that have patches (RDO, CoT, etc) disable the main mod and the patches all at once.

I wouldn't have brought my issues here if I hadn't done all the default stuff. Yes, I restarted my computer. I even uninstalled and reinstalled both Skyrim and Steam. I have the edits in my skse.ini, to allocate more memory. Everything seems matched up by MO. Considering I do playtesting to make sure things work every few mods, I'm not sure how much that's going to help. if you disable everything but Skyrim and the DLC's, does the game start?

Ok, disable all of your mods except the DLC and see if the game starts.

If it does, one of your mods is the issue. Start adding them in, one by one, until it doesn't start anymore.

If not, disable your ENB and repeat.

If it still won't go after that, ensure your Skyrim folder has full admin rights in your computer (if it's installed in the default location).

Other things to check: reinstall your video card drivers, go into Task Manager and see if you have any background programs that might be interfering with your game.

Did you clean your game with SSEdit?

Did you have LOOT and resolved all errors/dirty plugins?

Did you blindly installed everything?

If yes, You're an idiot. TESTING IS KEY

This is what you need:
LOOT (ORDER THE ESP/ESM)
TES5Edit (READ THE GUIDE)
Crash fix mods (Don't install too much, just pick one that fixes the big mass)

Second note:
Animations, if you have too much animations your game will crash no matter what. If you're planning on adding animations (which you already have in your modlist) just download them one by one. TEST THEM COMPLETELY then download the next one. I've had so many times that one animation doesn't work and instantly lets your game CTD.

Example:
I downloaded Dual Sheath Redux + Immersive Animations + XPMSE
My swords were equipped on left and right hip. The moment i activated the Animation (unsheating the weapon) i CTD. I changed the Animation to a default and the game worked fine again.

I mean, if you read my post, you'd see I said I tested everything and LOOT isn't detecting errors...

Loot tells me that SkyrimSE and SKSE are properly installed. SSEdit did not identify a problem. Yet, it doesn't start. I tried Vortex today.
It shows SKSE as a highlighted (activated?) tool.
Same story. What's next?

Forget LOOT for now.

If you disable all of your plugins and try and start the game with the Skyrim Launcher - NOT SKSE - does it go?

If you tested everything then why is it not working? When i test everything, I get a working functioning game.

That's literally what I'm asking here. Everything was working fine until I installed the ENB. Theoretically, then removing the ENB would revert to a working program, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Which ENB did you install?

Go into your main Skyrim Folder.

Look for any of the following files, and delete them if they are there: d3d9.dll, and any file or folder that has the letters "enb" in the filename (enbhost.exe, enblocal.ini, etc)

Next, go into the rar/7z file that your enb was packaged in, open it, and see if it installed anything to your Data folder. Some presets install things sun/sky meshes or fancy raindrops. If yours did, find the file location, and delete them.

If you did this correctly, you are now 100% ENB-free. Try and start your game.

I did that, but I didn't check the data folder sub, I'll give that a try
