scarycave
I've had Oblivion for a few months now and I haven't finished it. I've started over at least twelve times. So I'm thinking about running through it now. Is there a "best order" to do the quests in? I know some quests are going to get harder if my levels too high. I know I got to get in the mages guild early (ugh...I hate getting all the recommendations though, some of them are just really boring. I'm lookin' at you Bravil and Bruma). I've done the thieves guild quest line 100% in an older play-through, the rewards are okay. Fighters guild just gives gold I think, so that's kinda a let down. The arena quests I know I have to do early so I can get some spending money. I don't need to worry about leveling problems or quest rewards since I have mods on to fix those. I know I should hold out on find the heir quest because that can cause gates to open up and make things difficult. I really feel that I need to finish the MQ at least once and I want to be sure I'll have no regrets later.

Lanceor
Get a leveling mod - that way it doesn't get harder as you level up. All +5 Attribute Modifier or Attribute Plus X lets you use the default system without worrying about how many attribute points you'll get on level-up.Realistic Leveling lets you simply play and your attributes increase automatically based on skills leveled.Oblivion XP gives a classic CRPG style leveling system: earn enough experience points to level up and spend your attributes as you see fit. But to answer your question, for fighter types, I always go straight for Knights of the Nine as it gives you a full suit of armour that levels with you. For stealthy types, I join the Dark Brotherhood ASAP to get their armour which is much better than any other light armour available at low levels. scarycave
Well I don't have knights of the nine (If I did I probably would have got your mod and explode my computer with it), I usually play as a Khajiit or Argonian (so I can move quickly), I set up a class with all the spell schools (and wished I knew that it would get me free spells earlier), and I picked the Lady (I usually chose the Thief or the Warrior). I made a Breton awhile ago and liked magic (I never used to touch spells really - too expensive, must save up for a houses I'll never use). So I'm doing an Stealth/Magic character, though I pretty much try to cover all fields later on. I'm definitely going to get the Suit from the brother hood asap. (I was thinking about doing that quest line - the only one I've ever completed was the thieves guild. I got up to the ship captain then I felt guilty for killing the poor guy when his crew started banging on the door.) :( I'm going to hold out on the thieves-guild or at least the later one's, I'm not to fond of the mask other than the feather bonus - which I cannot use to carry my gear to reach a merchant. I want to do Mages Quests to get to the enchanting altar asap, though this is like the fifth time I'm getting all the recommendations again, not looking forward to that. I managed to get realistic leveling to work a few weeks ago, which is amazing. Though I don't know if the level up screen works properly since it seems to "advance" them to a lower level.
