Ghoulz
Is it just DLC? Cause I don't plan on getting the Steam version of Skyrim.
Deleted3507349User
Doesn't matter if you get the Steam version of Skyrim or a hard copy, you still need Steam (and be able to get online to validate your install) to play. For now, Dawnguard is DLC only, although it will no doubt be included in a future GOTY edition.
Ghoulz
Paranoia over nothing then? The disc is just faster than actually downloading the game? So Dawnguard and other DLC function normally with retail Skyrim, that's more like a steam Skyrim on a disc? Does it all have a steam folder or something? Install Skyrim, activate it online, download/install Dawnguard is all there is to it?
Deleted3507349User
Pretty much, everything is handled for you. Most of us run Steam in offline mode after everything is installed and verified though...mainly because if you run any mods an update may break them until the mods are also updated. Deleted3507349User
SImple, when Steam is running click Steam>Go Offline on the menu bar. Steam will also prompt you to start in online or offline mode. Be advised that whenever Steam is in online mode it tends to automatically download and install updates (even when told not to in the settings).
