Requesting some insight. Fresh install of Skyrim SE and mods, game crashes before it starts

I've had some problems with Skyrim SE before, but nothing quite as serious as this.

I did a clean install of Skyrim SE, deleted all the mods, did a clean install of them. And as I click on the SKSE_loader to launch the game, screen goes black for a second, and then just crashes to desktop.

I have the latest version of SKSE installed, latest version of Vortex, my GPU drivers are updated. I always use SSEEedit to work through my load order, and it's usually worked REALLY well.

I read that the latest skyrim se patch needed the newest skse, so I downloaded the newest skse, and installed it with vortex like always before.

I don't have a crazy amount of mods installed, not like I did with FO4, when I played my last run, I had 130+ mods.

Can someone think of what could be the reason for this crashing?

Thank you

When you installed the new version did you update all mods that need skse and require an update to work with the new version of script extender.

Script extender reliant mods that need updating and havent will often cause crashes.

I have gone in vortex, and clicked on "Check for Updates Full", and it comes back as nothing needs updated. Besides that, since I just re-installed all the mods, I should have the newest versions installed.

Not necessarily true. When the game updates there is a delay before the updates to the mods that need it.During that delay you are running the latest mod version. Some mods its just days but others can take weeks before update comes.

Thats the reason why the creation club updates are so hated.

If your convinced that its not that, then either the previous version of skse wasnt completely removed before installing the new one or it wasnt installed correctly.

I dont use vortex but mod managers dont expect files to be put in a folder above your Data folder which script extender does.Thats why most will recommend to manually place the 3 files that need to go into Skyrim SE folder-repack the scripts into a zip file and use your mod manager to install that.Personally i install/remove skse completely manually.
