Games coming in December for PC

I agree, GTA V was totally different from the rest of the GTA games that came before. Might not have been entirely for the best as it lost some of the over-the-top humour and action of the previous games, but it didn't play like the previous games.

I don't really know how you want them to change GTA. Easing into things, running missions for other people, working your way up to the top; that's pretty much what GTA is all about.

Except that was GTA:VC and GTA:SA... GTA IV didn't have you rising to the top of anywhere, you just spent the whole game being dicked around by the Russian Mafia, nagged to take your cousin for food, and blackmailed a few times without ever really being in control of what was happening. At no point in GTA IV did it really feel like I was getting anywhere or having some lasting effect from what I was doing.

From that standpoint, SR:3 actually managed to do it better, except for that easing into things part. It may be shorter, but it feels less like being someone's delivery boy and more like taking a proactive role against those that you intend to utterly destroy. Also, more over-the-top.

I would actually hope that GTA doesn't change all that much since it should always stay true to its dark, satirical, psychopathic roots. I guess GTA IV just felt more like being everyone's delivery boy and chauffeur and being led around blindly while the other ones were more about self-actualization. Regardless, with how many AAA games have been the last few years, I would still wait on gameplay footage and independent reviews.
