jburrowes
Hello everyone, I have an i5 2500K system with a 1 GB XFX 5850 video card and 8 GBs of ram. I've got Skyrim's graphics set to Ultra and the view distance sliders maxed. I'm just wondering whether getting a 2 GB card would result in the pop-in textures happening a lot further out? I can get a Gigabyte Radeon HD 7850 OC 975MHZ 2GB 4.8GHZ GDDR5 for $190 right now. It's faster by about 25 percent but, perhaps more importantly, it has double the ram. Does anyone know whether such an upgrade would significantly improve the loading of more distant textures?
Georgiegril
No. the pop-in is controlled by your settings. You can change the pop-in through your prefs ini. There is a good explanation on this in the Geforce tweak guide.
