MikeSchinlaub
Vortex version 0.16.15 I have a bit of an odd situation. A while ago I cancelled my internet and now have to download mods to my phone and transfer to my computer, I'm using the "drop files" box to add them to vortex . My question is, do I need to extract the 7z files before dropping them? I've updated two before I thought of this and vortex seems to install them fine, they just keep the 7z file name so I was curious.
rmm200
.7z is an Archive. That is what Vortex installs. Just drop them on the file drop area of the Mods page.Don't unzip them - you will break them.
AugustaCalidia
Drag and drop archives into the "drop files" box. Do not extract them. If you do, the "drop files" box will reject them. Through the "drop files" box you add archives to the downloads folder, which is your archive repository. When you install mods, the archives are extracted into the mod staging folder. When you enable and deploy installed mods, hardlinks are created in the game data folder. These hardlinks point to the extracted mods in the mod staging folder. @rmm200. Sicut fur in nocte.
