MacSuibhne
I haven't played Skyrim in several years. I reinstalled it last week and got Loot going again because I wanted to do the DLC Helgan Reborn (?) Anyway, when I was playing it originally everything was just fine--I have 19 or 20 mods. Now, after starting up again, I am getting texture problems where rocks and doors etc., are just kind of washed out fuzzy grey blobs. Not every where but often enough. I opened Loot and sorted my mods and cleaned one. When I look at Loot it says that HighResTexturePack01.esp, HighResTexturePack02.esp, and HighResTexturePack03.esp, as well as the Unofficial High Resolution Patch, are all "empty plug-ins". What does that mean? Is it the problem? If so, what do I do to replace or reactivate the mods? If not, does anyone have any idea what the problem is and how to correct it? Thanks
saurusmaximus
The empty plugins thing is nothing to worry about; essentially those .esp files are placeholders to let you know you have the mods installed. They only replace texture files, which doesn't require anything in the CK. Do you have any other texture mods installed (keeping in mind that they often don't show up in your load order)? Can you post a pic of the problem?

saurusmaximus
Is there another way to get a sceren cap while in game?Try pressing F12. That is the default screenshot key for Steam, you should be able to get them that way. In the meantime, the only mod you have that would directly affect rock textures, besides the HRTP, is SMIM. Try disabling that and see if it helps. The only other thing I can think of is maybe RLO is altering the lighting in a way that is making the rocks look weird? MacSuibhne
Thank you for that tip. I did get a prtscrn shot : (man the restriction on image size is a killer here) I have not disabled SMIM but will try that next. Meantime loading directly through Steam seems to help but sometimes Steam seems to lag and doesn't fully load the game before it opens the play dialog. If I am careful about that I seem to be OK. agerweb
Have you tried with no mods loaded? ie just Vanilla skyrim and DLC. This should always be the first test when you have a global issue. Difficult to tell from one screenshot, but that looks a little bit like a LOD issue.
