Fallout 4 Dialogue Files

I am currently trying to make a new custom follower for fallout 4, this follower is meant to have voiced dialogue.

If the follower system in fallout 4 was the same as in Skyrim, my mod would be out by now. Unfortunately it isn't. In Skyrim, there is an overarching quest and script system for all followers covering a wide variety of voicetypes.

In Fallout 4, each of the companions has their own quest, unique voicetype and scripts. That means that custom follower support is lacking. If I want to make a follower, I'm going to have to make my own follower quest, create their dialogue & worst of all, compile my own scripts. Needless to say this is daunting and a half.

Now, using the Voice File Reference Tool, I have extracted the .xwm and .lip files for the FemaleBoston voicetype, which I intend to duplicate and use for dialogue. However, I have noticed that each filename is simply a bunch of letters and numbers, like a Reference ID code.

My question to you all, ladies and gentlemen is, is it possible for me to change the names of these files to reflect their dialogue? This would allow me to tell which lines they are at a glance, but I worry that it might 'break' them, that the Creation Kit might be unable to read them.

As you may have guessed, I have absolutely no knowledge of making Quests, generating Dialogue, or writing Scripts. Any advice on this matter would be appreciated.
