lemmiwinks321
So I was transmuting ores to gold ore, to make rings for smithing. I just kept buying from the 2 vendors in Whiterun, buying off their silver and iron ore so I could transmute it. I don't have a lot of mana, so I just waited an hour between each cast. After a while, without closing the game and messing with my saves, any files, or my mods, the vendors became un-interactable. Then that extended to every single quest-related NPC. The crosshairs don't say their name when you highlight them. So now I'm stuck. What happened? I literally just purchased ore, transmuted it(with many 1 hour Time Waits), smelted, a crafted rings. Georgiegril
Did you happen to travel back and forth through any load doors while all this was going on? If so, you might hae the navmesh bug. If that is the case, the only solution is to revert to a previous save. (all that gold! I am sorry)Even if that is not the cause, it may be that you are looking at a corrupted savegame file. Did you try closing out of the game entirely and then trying to go back in? If the problem continues, then I think you will have to revert to a previous save.

And I totally forgot to make backup saves while playing this character. I have like 5 other characters, all with TONS of saves. For this guy, just 1 corrupt save, some autosaves and a quick save. Great work, me. Ugh, I wish "movetoqt" worked as easily as in Oblivion, I might consider doing that for the many many quests/storylines I did, then manually fill in my talent trees/skill levels. Edit: Yes, I went in and out of the blacksmith store, and quick waited many MANY times. If you ask me, that should not corrupt a save. That's just a faulty saving system. Backing up the game's files is not the optimized solution to keeping your character playable. Bethesda games are just junky. Moraevik
My question is why did you wait for one-hour periods? It takes but a matter of seconds to regenerate your Magicka once it's depleted (except when you're in combat, when magicka regen is slowed down), unless you have a mod that affects magicka regen rate. It was faster. Funny thing, because I couldn't talk to any quest NPC, I just started collecting stuff for the miscellaneous quests I had sitting in my quest log, thinking that maybe playing the game while not near cities, with no wait's and limited quick travel's, maybe it would fix itself. Like, let their AI reset after doing their programed daily routines uninterupted several times. And what do you know, after 2 hours of play, I went back to Balgruuf (Whiterun Jarl), and the blacksmith/weapons vendor, they were all interact-able again. I guess I'm a genius? Not gunna question it.
Moraevik
I'm not being argumentative, here, lemmiwinks. I'm just very curious why you have to wait an hour for your magicka to regenerate. As I said, it takes but a few seconds to completely regenerate your magicka, at least in the vanilla game. I've done the iron to silver to gold transmutation before, too, in mass beginning with over a hundred chunks of iron ore and never once had to wait during the whole process. I'm really curious what mod you're using that forces a one-hour magicka regeneration period. The vanilla rate is 3% of your total magicka per second, easily boosted by readily-available apparel and potions. A beginning character with no magicka regen buffs will completely regenerate his magicka in less than 34 seconds.

Real question is who would wait 34 seconds instead of 2.5 seconds for the sake of... not making your PC wait around for an hour? Immersion breaking?Seems like his action is justified and reasonable. Georgiegril
When you are converting a bunch of iron to gold, the wait times really add up. 34 seconds may not seem like a lot, but 34 X 100.... It doesn't need to be a mod that makes you wait, just low magic levels and lots of ore. I have done that myself before.

lemmiwinks321
lol thank you guys for the support in this matter. XD Also, saying "I'm not being ____" does not undo the "____" that is said or done following the "I'm not being...", in this case being blatantly argumentative. :geek:
