Reavon
I just reinstalled for a 3rd time, due to lockups, freezing, and etc. I've decided to abandon two characters and 300+ hrs of game play and start from scratch. My question is how do I stop steam from re adding the back up saves from their servers? I don't want to use these or be tempted to try them again. I've already wasted enough time trying to figure out what's wrong with the old ones and gave up. Thanks
Georgiegril
The Backups through Steam are saved locally. mine are at Games.Skyrim>stream backups, but I believe there is an option to put them wherever you want, so your location may differ.Your savegames are in username>mydocuments>mygames>Skyrim (assuming Windows &, slightly different if using vista or XP, but you should be able to find it). Generally its recommended to delete the files inside but not the folders. When you are doing the reinstall, it may help to completely turn off your computer after uninstalling and before reinstalling, just to completely clear the cache. Also, It may seem unecessary, but going through proper removal of all the mods before removing them and clearing out the mod files may prevent weird script errors that shouldn't occur with a clean install but sometimes do. It won't hurt, anyway.

I did the uninstall, Scanned with Ccleaner, emptied the skyrim (install) folder location. I'll check the "stream backups" folder tonight, as once I installed the game and started a new game, all my old saves were still there. As I stated above, I'd rather not see them....bad reminder...lol. :P Thanks for the reply.
