Advise on a Druid build?

I realise that this is a build skyrim was not made for which is why i have the druidism mod, plus a couple spells from midas magic help with that as well. the druidism mod counts mainly towards alteration so thats the main focus, but other then that what would you suggest i focus on? also too i like to have my mages carry a weapon and put maybe 3-4 perks in the tree that weapon is in, ie for my wizard i have the dawnbreaker, my necromancer has a daedric war axe and so on. i think i have at the most 5 perks put into weapons and the rest is magic oriented. for a druid i was toying with a bow because i read somewhere that druids avoid metal and steel so a bow just seems to make sense but id like to hear what you would suggest.

at the moment my druid is a male dark elf, i know wood elves are the superior choice because of thier racial ability but i just like the look of dark elves. not to mention animal alliegence is altready a shout so why not?

lastly the vanilla game doesnt really offer any kind of druidic attire, be it robes or armor. i have immersive armors, tribunal robes, and knightlyos armors but i cant really see anything there that seems druidic either, the hunter armor from immersive comes close but it does have some metal and dead rabbits and i dont think a druid, someone whos one with nature and animals, would use that. that also goes for the vanilla fur armor and forsworn armor so could you suggest an armor or robes mod that would work with the build?

thanks.

I dunno what druids you have in mind but historical druids were crazy mofos who sacrificed animal and humans alike and ran around naked whilst bathed in blood.

That's not even remotely close to being true.

Druids were the educated class in Celtic societies. They didn't wear stupid looking robes wandering around the woods worshiping trees. They were political leaders, priests, doctors, judges, diplomats, etc.

The image of druids as being "crazy mofos who sacrificed animal and humans alike and ran around naked whilst bathed in blood" is pure fantasy, and based solely on what the conquering Romans told everyone to believe. Hell, even the Romans themselves used to call on druids to act as impartial arbitrators to settle disputes.

That is the romantics theory. It has never been proven either way. They were not political leaders. They were obviously healers and would be called to judge on certain cases. Diplomats? In the Iron Age? I admit the proof of them sacrificing humans is not absolute but they very definitely would have sacrificed animals at harvest time. The majority of what we know about druids is from fantasy, from myths handed down through the ages. Certainly here in Ireland they are caught up in Christian stories about early saints. This is where the magic part came to being, they were seen as evil sorcerers keeping people from the true God. It is true of course that many Christian practices are based on pagan roots.

So anyway. That is just my opinion on what the druids did. Human sacrifice is not uncommon throughout history and I believe that romantics tend to block it out when they examine cultures. Certainly the Aztec's get that treatment when people are talking about the evils done by the Spanish. The countless numbers of men sacrificed to the Sun are rarely mentioned at that point.

By the way: My original line was meant to be jokey. The running around naked part is probably not true. If they did practice human sacrifice I'm sure it was a bit more spiritual than that lol.
