killerisme
Hello, Ive ran into a big problem and Im hoping somebody can help. When i started up skyrim today I had a peculiar thing happen to me, for some reason when I draw my bow the characters arm completely blocks the view of the screen. Not only that, but when I look in 3rd person, it seems my characters body will completely bend over backwards when aiming up or bend forewards and completely clip though his legs when aiming down. This is making it impossible to use my bow, which is my main weapon for this character. Im not sure how this happened, as I havent changed any of the files, I use quite a few mods but last time I played this wasnt happening. I may have updated a few, but I already tried uninstalling them all. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a fresh copy of skyrim and the update and dawnguard and it still persists, without any mods installed at all. This leaves me to belive that the bug is still persistant in my save files. I tried loading a save from further back, and when I load that one it wont let me draw any weapons at all. Im about halfway through dawnguard and this is making it impossible to finish. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Brandy1123
I am not sure that I completely understand your problem. It sounds like a field of view issue. Try this and see if it helps. It wil ltake some adjusting, but if it works, there is a permanent solution once you find the number you like best From inside the game, hit your ~ key. this brings the game console up. From there type FOV 70 FOV = Field of View. the number represents the way you perceive the world. Kind of like a bubble eye (fish eye) lens. Adjust this number up and down by 5 or 10 until you see something you like. At the start of each game you can then type in FOV # . A more permanent way (so you don't have to enter FOV again) is to edit the INI file for the game. If you do edit the file, make a backup of it prior to editing it. It can really screw things up if you do it wrong or want to undo it later. find and open up your Skyrim.ini file <---- default location is normally : Start/ Documents\My Games\Skyrim search for the heading : [General] <--- inside the skyrim.ini file in that section find or add : fdefaultfov= XX <----- xx = the number from your FOV console setting save the file change then load your game. I hope this helps :)
killerisme
Thanks for the info, but I dont think its fov, ive adjusted that before. I actually found a few other posts from people with the same issue (shoulda looked a little harder I guess, but I didnt know what to search for). My issue is exactly what these fellas are dealing with http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/778342-weird-combat-anymation-with-bow/ , http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/778899-crossbow-aiming/ . But they dont seem to have found any solutions either. And for reference this is what it looks like (from Jellicent's post) http://i.imgur.com/ntHnq.jpg . What Ive had to do for now is give up on archery and revert back to sword and shield, since it only affects bows, crossbows apparantly too, when zooming in.
