taryl80
Hi guys. For a few days, a 3d modeler has sent me a new piece of clothing, for a mod I working currently on. It is a mask. The problem is, I can't get it running. Everytime when I try to load the new .nif in the ck, the ck crashes, without any warning pop up, or whatever. I have really problems to work with Nifskope (I hate that program and it hates me, I believe^^), so I am a Nifskope newb I would say, but still I had seen 2 errors there. First I needed to link the mask to the .dds (d, n, s) and then I had to adjust the hight of the mask, since she was originally under the feet positioned. Those 2 errors I have fix, but the ck is still crashing. Why is this still happening? I have already merge a duplicate of the vanilla surgery mask entry with my .esp and I thought "now I just need to load the new mask.nif in the ck and it will run"... That was wrong. Everytime I try to load the new .nif file in: ArmorAddon/Biped Model of the duplicated surgery mask armor addon entry, the ck crashes as said before. Did someone know what is running wrong here? I as a nifskope/3d modeler newb don't know were I should start to look for what makes the ck crashing. Edited July 21, 2019 by taryl80
Zorkaz
I'm not a nifskope expert. But maybe you can upload sample via dropbox or post pictures
taryl80
Thanks for your answer. Yesterday a old friend has come back (hours after I have open the thread here). He is pretty familiar with importing clothes into Fallout 4 (so also masks, I hope). I think he will be able to do it, if not I will post here a ton of screenshots ^^:). icestormng
I have that too quite often. I usually check before with Elrich. If it runs through, the files are usually good. Nifskope is not the right tool for creating skinned meshes (like outfits). The mask needs to have bone weighting to the body so it moves correctly alongside it. You better use Outfit Studio, Import your mask, Import the head and set it as reference, and then copy all bone weightings to the mask. You can also use MAX 2013 with the BGS exporter plugin. CK crashes when there is a problem with the Bone weighting. But it also crashes for other reasons like having precision mismatch or some wrong settings in the material file.
