steve40
From time to time when modding, I'll encounter a form, be it a quest, magic effect, enchantment or whatever, that won't behave quite like it should. Deleting the recalcitrant form and then re-creating it has always solved the problem for me.
RustyShackleford90
With the size of bethesda and the amount of high quality games they create, it makes me wonder why they just dont create their own engine from the ground up, and tailor it to their needs like most of the other triple a game studios. I know this would be more expensive and time consuming, but I think it would be worth it and they could probably licence the tech to other studios. I have been working on a mod for a month and a half now, and every time I fix one bug 2 more take its place. Its getting to the point where im considering not even releasing, and going back to udk. So in short I agree with you guys the creation kit is ridiculous.

Vandrath
Did you check your aliases? Did you make your quest using aliases? Sometimes a logical alias order to you might not be logical to the CK (you literally have to tell it if the chicken or the egg came first). I was banging my head against a wall for 6 hours while making a quest because my stage would not set. I though my aliases were layed out in a logical order but that wasn't the case. I switched up the alias then everything fired fine.Skyrim generates the quest on startup. It also generates the aliases in the order you assign them. If one alias is off the rest of the quest wont fire or the quest wont start at all.It could be the CK bugging but it can also be something very vague in your quest setup.I also have had a problem when it comes to scripts working one second then not working the next when tested. It could be a scripting issue. Edited September 23, 2012 by Vandrath
SkjoldBjorn
I've seen this problem countless times with quests, though it seems that the quest i made that does not have any dialogue works like a charm however, it only fires on triggers and kills throughout a playerhome i made.I made my own quests the other day with dialogues that did not fire, so i simply snip'ed (no not tesvsnip just "delete") em out for the time beeing, i hope that everything i have to make at this point will be enough to keep me going until it's fixed because i think that will take some time...also the new bug with shadowed lights in exterior cells are also quite annoying, this completely screwed with my mod so i had to go back and change em all to normal lighting. I do not hate the CK though, so much other stuff i can do there, but i share the frustration of things that i want to do right now, but have to put on wait for the time beeing. No scripts, no aliases, np packages for NPC, no conditions except GetIsID for NPC and GetStage=0 for dialouge to begin, dialogue is recorded and shows in game folder. quest is Start Game Enabled. priority 50, 60, 100 makes no difference, Side Quest, Misc Quest, None (for chat), tried them all. Trashed NPC, remade NPC, trashed quest, remade quest, changed location, changed voice type, you name it I've tried it. So a simple 1 branch dialouge with 2 lines of text "Hello Mr NPC"...."Hello Mr Player..." won't appear.
