Guest deleted10552447
Recently I got the GOG version of New Vegas after reading that it was considerably more stable than Steam's. From experience I know FO3 on GOG is night and day compared to Steam's version, and from what I can tell so is New Vegas. A problem came up with FNVEdit however. I'm not sure why, but even on a completely fresh vanilla install, FNVEdit gives an error related to Decompression of a cell of land in the Persistent Worldspace for the Wasteland, for FalloutNV.esm, while it was building reference info. Prior to that it gave multiple errors with DeadMoney.esm, but after reinstalling the game those went away. With the NV.esm issue being smaller I didn't think anything of it, until now when Merge Plugins, which worked fine just days ago with the Steam version, won't load FalloutNV.esm with the GOG version, hanging on it indefinitely and not even using any memory or CPU resources. It just sits there. I've done SMART tests just in case, and my drive is totally fine. I'm thinking it has something to do with xEdit, which if I remember Merge Plugins is based on, having an error with the plugin and maybe building a corrupt reference, but deleting the reference didn't fix it. As I said, this didn't happen with the Steam version in the 5+ years I'd been using modding tools for it, and I've recently modded FO3 to a pretty considerable degree, the GOG version, with no issues, so why all of a sudden New Vegas is causing problems is beyond me. I made sure to remove the Steam version, so all of it's fresh. Anyone have these issues too?
Guest deleted10552447
Got the Form ID as well. Just tried it again on a completely fresh install. No mods. Background Loader: <Error decompressing [LAND:00150FC0]: [EZDecompressionError] Data error> It's the Strip's worldspace.
dubiousintent
This is the first I've heard of such a problem. I would raise that issue with GOG. Sounds like they may have a corrupted file on their server. Otherwise you will need to take it up with the xEdit team.on their Bethesda Forum and AFK Forum. -Dubious-

GamerRick
I get that error message to the first time FNVedit builds its repository. I ignored the message and nothing bad happened afterwards with all the mods I have edited. Or at least, nothing bad I ever noticed....
