scottym23
The title says it all. Every player wants this to be implemented, but will they actually do it? I would love for them to, but I don't see where the lore would justify such a transformation. Let's not forget that the royal blood line for the kings of Cyrodiil were all Dragonborns, and there are no written passages or books even hinting about them turning into dragons. Also you'd think at the very least information like that would travel through word of mouth. But then again, if Bethesda is pressured enough and feels they are obligated to make this content, all they need to do is create the lore since they are the creators of The Elder Scrolls, and whatever they want to incorporate in their games they can do so by just writing the lore in. And another point that I think i'm unique in thinking of is that this is basically the only elder scrolls game that will ever be able to justify a dragon transformation. If they don't install this content into Skyrim, they'll have to hear people's complaints forever and not be able to add it to any future installment of the game since they already used up the perfect installment of the game to put that content in. So what do you guys think, will this every be a future Skyrim DLC?

TheUninvitedGuest
Whilst part of me thinks it would be nice. I don't think the existing mechanics of the game would allow it. The behaviour of dragons in game is controller by ai for a reason. The performance issues related to the increased speed of movement, and the need for a continuous world environment as provided by open cities would be considerable. Furthermore - any mods I have seen that tried to replicate the same effect have had issues with clipping and so on. I think it might require a kind of whole world nav mesh of some kind. Staind716
Sure they will. And it won't have a single bug either. :whistling:
AnkhAscendant
Sure they will. And it won't have a single bug either. :whistling: XD Now, I don't think it will ever happen. But if it ever were to, what you are likely to get as a 'dragon transformation' is something along the lines of werewolf or vampire lord - forced 3rd person, half-man/half-beast, no inventory, moderately useful abilities which are limited and irritating. Still want it?

Still want it? In a few simple words? HELL YEAH. Haha, I mostly want the dragon form just so the Dovahkiin can feel more important and powerful. As it stands, all he can do is learn shouts quicker than other people. I've seen a team of guards take down dragons easily, so defeating one yourself isn't much of an accomplishment. "But you are forgetting that as the Dovahkiin you can ABSORB THE DRAGON'S SOUL!!" Oh yeah, right...that...You mean that flashy animation that does nothing more than give you their soul, which in reality does nothing more than help you learn shouts that are pretty pointless to begin with since 99% of the time i'll be spamming Unrelenting Force anyway? Neato... In my opinion a human/dragon hybrid would be even better than a full dragon transformation for a number of reasons. For one it will be more unique. Another would be that dragons aren't really super powerful and almighty to begin with, so transforming into one wouldn't be THAT impressive. And the last reason (for obvious reasons) is that bugs would be a hassle if you had to fly around as a dragon. making it so you can be a hybrid dragon/human would be intense, but wouldn't break the game or ruin immersion ;). I already have a good idea for one of it's abilities, which would be for the cool down to be dramatically lowered so you can actually use multiple shouts as an effective combat skill :D. Loki180
I would be disappointed ^_^ maybe some kinda dragon form but not a full blown Dragon. Would feel kinda stupid.
porroone
The engine isnt flying friendly, so I dont think they will ever add anything related to flying with the current engine. Changing the whole engine to be based in something different to their current grid system, would take a lot and I mean probably designing a whole new engine. So no, I dont think we would ever either see flying mounts, dragon shapeshift or any kind of flying other than mods.
catmagnet
Wasn't there a D&D-class called dragon-something? Even sprouted wings at some point, iirc. Something along that lines would be feasible, just take the hoovering of the vampire lord and combine it with some other abilities and a set of perks. Only use I see for it would be to open up the hoovering for characters who don't want to turn vampire. All in all I don't think there's any desperate need for it, but it could provide some continuation of the dragonborn storyline and maybe some use for all that dragon souls besides shouts. Sooner or later you are loaded with them and there's nothing they're good for once you unlocked all shouts. In the end the quality of a DLC is not about some extra-cool übershapeshift (though it may be a major selling point... sadly), but about a good questline. Dawnguard was ok in that regard, but not exactly mindboggling either. And for the record: vampire lords just suck. Completely unnecessary, but... see above.
