Water problem

Problem with oblivion: a strange blue-isch film is lying over the water.

Modded it by using: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/49280

Everything installed using Wry Bash.

In the Oblivion Reloaded ini turned of HDR and turned it on in the regular Oblivion settings. Everything looked normal, water as well.

Later on by accident I started the game with the official oblivion Icon instead of Wrye Bash. Then the system started to adjust the settings by itself

Since then the strange blue film over the water is back again and I cannot remove it whatsoever. I put the settings back like instructed in the oblivionreloaded.ini

and in the original game settings. Nothing helps and I have no idea what to do.

Who knows the solution?

Unfortunately no effect. Tried your theory by loading an old file from before the bad game start.

What other options are there?

If there is still someone who read this or might know something....

Strangely enough there is no water problem when I start things up using the regular Oblivion.exe icon. That might very well mean there is something wrong in the OBSE based mods. Suggestions/ solutions are still welcome.

Yes you can start through the normal exe still. However that means any and all obse stuff will not be running. So you are correct in surmising something from obse is at fault.

Btw I looked at that guide you linked. I feel it has some good and bad advice. Mod using is really quite technical, and there is no perfect load order or easy way to do things. Please post your obse plugin list.

HeHeHe, Got sick of searching and puzzling. Your reply came short after I kicked the whole bunch off my computer...

If you can give me a solution I might make a second attempt. Wanted to play Oblivion again for the sake of nostalgia but never had modded it that far.

As far as I can dig up. The following OBSE based plug ins where installed:

AllNatural, Oblivion reloaded, Blockhead need OBSE as well. In essence it where all the mods on that link that need OBSE, did not make that much additions by myself yet.

My search ended at the oblivionreloaded.ini file since I got everything working by making the adjustments as given in the link.

By the way: allnatural did not seem to work perfectly either. Got a purple sky in Bruma for example.

Thanks again

I've hear of allnatural and OR having conflict. Since they cover a lot of the same changes it is necessary to balance them to... play nice together. If I had to pick one, I would choose OR. If only or the water and terrain noise. Also, it has mounted combat, enhanced camera, and many other awesome features. But compatibility will always be a thing with OR. I use it and many other obse stuffs, so it can be done. Edited by ReverendFelix

You might have to disable WeatherMode in OR if you're gonna use All Natural.

You don't need to start the game from Wrye Bash, easier to start it by double clicking on obse_loader.exe. Make a shortcut to it from your desktop and remove all shortcuts to oblivion.exe, otherwise you're gonna click on them by mistake.

Might want to give it another go. In this link: https://www.nexusmod...vion/mods/49280 is an installation suggested with both OR and AllNatural. I must admit, I like the pictures of AllNatural a lot so if it is possible to use it, that would be nice. Haven't seen a thing of it in my own installation so ideed there might be something wrong.

And of course the water that I cannot seem to figure out.

In the link there are some .ini files provided both from OR and AllNatural. One might think both are adjusted to each other. Will try with only OR first, see what it does.

(By the way: is this something useful? https://github.com/ModOrganizer2/modorganizer/wiki/Running-Oblivion-OBSE-with-MO2)

I'll keep you informed.

It's possible. I use both of them myself and have disabled OR's WeatherMode although I don't know for sure if that is really necessary.

I don't know why your water doesn't work, it's obvious that you have installed something wrong.

When it comes to OR it's a very hard mod to install if you are unlucky. The third party software that you have to install in order to make it work (DirectX 9.0c and Visual C++ Runtime and all that stuff) doesn't always install itself correctly it seems. If I were you I would uninstall all other mods and only focus on OR until you are sure it really works. Not until then you can focus on the easy stuff.
